Finding out I had Osteopinia was the best thing that ever happened to me. Not only did I become aware of my bone health, but since I was prescribed calcium it has really helped not only my bones but my teeth and jaw. It is a noticeable difference. I had a bottle of calcium and D3 here before ,I was prescribed it I wish I had been taking it all along.

That’s great! Right now I’m just taking a multivitamin and Magnesium Glycinate, but I should make sure I am getting enough Calcium too.

I would definitely. It will help your bone strength. I think you probably need to be taking multi vitamins with iron..especially since you have so many medical issues and don't always eat right. Check with doc

@snowy22315 I eat pretty healthy. I wasn’t eating enough a few months ago, but I wasn’t too hungry. I’m hungry now though. And my doctor did a whole panel on iron, magnesium, and so on, and even the magnesium is back to normal. I want to have enough energy so I’m very intent on protein and extra veggies. Weirdly, I’m really enjoying vegetables these days.

@AmbiePam That's great. However, Amber there is no reason why you shouldn't be taking a multi vitamin with iron. You are happy now, but you might be down later on .and not eating so well

@Juliaacv Thanks for explaining that. I wasn't really sure why it was included.

@snowy22315 I buy straight calcium, and double them up because of the advanced stage of my osteo and then of course the D3 is to help with absorption.

I am glad it works for you, this should prevent that your Osteopenia deteriorates.

Yes, that is the idea I also switched to a much lighter purse. Probably no effect though. The issue though is that this new one is too small. I can't carry enough in it. I need a mid range

@LadyDuck I saw some nice purses at the yard sale thing last weekend, but they were on the large size. I would be stuffing them again. I know me.

I am sure mye bones must be stronger but the biggest difference is in my teeth. I wasn't even chewing much on my left side..and now is not an issue

@JudyEv Yes, I could kick myself for not trying this earlier when I had it all along but live and learn I guess.

It will be more beneficial if you provide calcium rich food along with D3 Suppliment.

The calicium is in the supplement. Overdoing it with calcium is probably not a great idea.

@snowy22315 If you do not have other health issues.Instead of suppliment You may have calcium rich foods along with D3 for proper absorption.

I have taken calcium, magnesium and zinc with D 3 for years. I really needed the magnesium. I am fortunate to have good bones.

My little one has that as well. Nothing has been prescribed yet though they just keep an eye on things and she’s doing great. I’m glad the calcium is helping you. I took it during my first two pregnancies but since too much calcium can cause kidney issues I didn’t take it with my youngest since I was already bladder issues.

You also have to pay attention to how much calcium is appropriate to drink because too much calcium can also cause osteoporosis.

Really? I don't think I get that much calcium in what I eat or drink. I will read about that though

@snowy22315 Since I'm not supposed to be out in the sun, my doctor told me to start taking a daily D3 capsule.

I'm glad the calcium is working for you. I have osteopenia in my right hip; but I found out I'm taking too much calcium with the kidney disease and kidney stones. I've already cut back. The D3 should be OK.
