I Don't Like Change But Sometimes Change Is Good

Happy Monday Everyone and Happy Fall. We're heading into cooler weather and I'm looking forward to seeing the beautiful foliage that comes with the Fall. Yesterday my daughter had this bright idea about rearranging the furniture in the living room. At first I was nope but then I figured why not. I don't want to be old and so set in my ways that I refuse to change. She did 99% of the work and I have to admit it does look nice. Different that's for sure but I'm glad I said yes. Of course this lead to overflowing into the dining room and that also got rearranged. I had my little desk/office setup in the corner of the living room so that's been moved into the cornor of the dining room which really looks much better. Plus it gives my daughter a quiet place to work if she has to work downstairs for some reason. Without the desk in the living room it gave us more space and now it just flows better. Plus we were able to add another chair & ottoman where the desk was giving us another seat for when we have company. I had the chair in my bedroom and I really never used it. So, now it's in the living room. All in all with all the moving around I have to say I'm happy. Maybe I should listen to my daugher more?

Change is a double-edged sword for me, usually. Glad you are getting a bit of "refreshing" over there.

I'm glad I didn't resist as the change really worked out well. The only thing is getting used to my recliner being in a different spot

@Marilynda1225 We have never really been furniture rearrangers. Usually things fit exactly where they are and never fit anywhere else. lol

I'm glad you're happy with the new arrangement. I will be gaining space today when they come to take out my treadmill, broken recliner, wheelchair and pole lamp.

That space is going to feel a million times bigger when that stuff is gone.

Glad you are happy with it. The way I have my furnituer in this room I think is the only way that makes sense.. The couch is long and needs a long wall. The chairs don't need a long wall. The only probably with the couch though is you can't see the TV well from there. I could move the TV to a different wall, and the entertainment center under neath than you could see it better from the couch, and move a chair over there, but that is a big job.

We kind of had the same problem with the tv being where it is due to that's where the cable connection is so we just moved the other stuff around and it works. The only thing is my recliner is in a different spot and it's taking a little getting used to.

Yes, happy Fall to you. When I was still working, I hated change so much. I seemed like I would just get used to my job and what was expected of me, and they'd make some changes. Ugh!

That is alot of movement, I hope that you don't go walking around the house in the dark, you're liable to stub your toe on something that wasn't in that location last week.

No stubbing toes in the dark or the light everything works well but the only thing is my recliner is in a different spot and that's taking a bit longer to get used to. Otherwise it really looks nice

A nice rearrangement of furniture sometimes gives the feeling of a mini makeover without spending money. I like that!

I hate it too, but if that is for the better, I'll go for it no matte how inconvenient it is.

Hmm... I want the furniture and plants to stay where I put them so I don't fall when I'm going through the house and can't see. I gripe if Pretty leaves her shoes in the living room. They're just another trip hazard for me. I'm glad you like the changes. (I told Pretty to rearrange her bedroom as much as she wants but leave the living room and kitchen the way I have them.)

I can understand why you wouldn't want anything changed if you have trouble and worrying about tripping.. Certainly don't want to fall and possibly break something.

I don't like being out of my comfort zone which is what often happens when changes are made. I'm glad the rearrangement works well.
