Did You Know This About the King of Rock and Roll?

I don't know anyone that doesn't like/love Elvis Presley. My BFF loved him. She had every record and collected memorabilia of his. I think the only person who didn't like him was Ed Sullivan. 
But did you know that he was a natural blonde? I am so used to seeing him with his black hair that I didn't realize the black and white pictures were right. They always showed his hair so light in the earlier photos of him.
He died his hair for several reasons. Even got his wife, Priscilla, to dye hers. He felt that black hair brought out his blue eyes much more. He also wanted to emulate two of his heroes Toni Curtis and Marlon Brando.
In the early days he couldn't afford hair dye, so he used shoe polish. Then when he could afford it he used Miss Clairol 51D and Black Velvet/Mink Brown by Paramount. During his stint in the Army his hair grew out to a brownish blonde color.

I had read about this somewhere, Actually I think he did right that blode hair was not for him and he would not look good with it,

I did not know that Elvis Presley dyed his hair black. He was famous before I was born. I became a fan of us after he passed away in 1977.

I have seen old photos of him as a child with light colored hair. I guess that I thought that it just darkened when he got older.
