Don’t like the TV stand

My mom’s friend came to help me put together the TV stand. We spend at least five hours putting it together. After he left, I found some things that need fixing. The left door needs to be readjusted. And it seems one of the boards is not as tight as it should be. I also found that the top shelf is chipped in one corner. Don’t know if it came like that or if it happened during installation. Can’t do anything about that though.
I think the TV stand is too big. And it’s not centered between the two windows, which I hate. Centering it means it’s gonna block one of the vents for the central AC and heat. But I guess if the TV stand is not too close to the wall it’s ok.
I don’t like the LED light thing. I don’t need it and will probably not use it. But it came with it. So no choice. If it were me, I would get a smaller size TV stand and without the LED lights. This one wasn’t available in a smaller size. And the ones I looked at without LED lights I either didn’t like or they weren’t a good fit.
If it weren’t for my mom’s friend we would have gotten installation for it. It would have taken way less time to put it together.
I have not removed the protective plastic from the doors yet. That’s why the doors look weird in the pic.

I prefer to see things in person before I buy them but in this case I couldn’t do that. The TV stands that I saw in IKEA I did not like and there were a few other stores I checked out and I didn’t like what they had either.

Maybe I just need to get used to it and it won’t feel so big.

The door hinges or whatever they are called just need to be readjusted.

For something like this, I prefer to go to an actual store and pick out something I like. But I understand your frustration. Looks to me like the vent is on the right side and you can pull it to the left and you'll actually not be blocking anything, but making it more open. Could be an optical illusion though.

There is a vent to the right of each window. The left one is actually blocked by the tv stand. Moving it more to the right makes the stand way off center between the windows and I hate that.

@porwest whatever the correct word is both are the same type of vent.

@lovebuglena The one I can see looks like a supply vent. I would assume the one to the left that I can't see is a return vent, which won't be impeded by anything, other than if it IS a return vent, I'd like to have a conversation with the guy who built the place to figure out why he thought that was a good idea. lol
