Tuesday it is!

I woke up this morning, and couldn’t remember if it was Monday or Wednesday. What a surprise, it is Tuesday! Usually I watch Monday Night football, but I fell asleep. Yesterday I got a text from my sister with a bunch of pictures from the Disney resort in Hawaii. This is from the pool outside their room. She’s already been to the beach. They did have a four hour flight delay Sunday, but that’s better than a canceled flight! My dad gamely went to an art show to support a friend yesterday. He’s not much into art; my mom was. But when your friend had art in a show, you go! I would have liked to have seen it, but it was two hours away, and I didn’t want to go THAT much. Tomorrow is the appointment with my doctor who tests a saint’s patience. I wonder sometimes if he’s gotten by on his looks all these years. His staff is all the time apologizing for his incompetence. I’m stuck with him for now. Finally, LISTEN! If you’re not feeling well, do not hesitate to go to the doctor (despite my recent hesitancy to go back to the ER, I DO go to the doctor). My stepmom thought she was having a stroke when she got double vision and couldn’t find the right words when talking. They took her to the ER (last month). She had a UTI. The doctor told her as we get older, symptoms of UTIs are different. Case in point, one of my dad’s best friends, 77 years old, is currently in the hospital, out of his mind. What’s wrong? A UTI. I kid you not. He felt really bad for a week, and then suddenly he had no idea what or who anything or anybody is. They’re combating the infection now, but he’s still out of it. And it IS “just” a UTI. So please, don’t ignore feeling badly.

No, it’s not something else. And UTI symptoms change as we get older. These doctors at these different hospitals are not making things up out of thin air. A simple urine test proved it.

@AmbiePam That is quite worrying then. I hope there is a cure.

I have worked in care homes and when a resident starts with confusion, or with falls, the good care homes check for a UTI immediately.

I usually remember what day it was by thinking about what was on TV yesterday.

My darling younger brother says I go to the doctor more than him, and thinks I'm a hypochondriac. Also, I woke up thinking it was Sonday.

I noticed the Sonday thing, but thought it was an accidental repost.

As much as this is important information thank you for upping my anxiety, I am alone, I will be alone, I have no phone, and the Lord watches over me, I am ready to lie down on my bed and let someone pull me to the other side, For now I feel perfectly fine thank you very much,

I never would have thought that an UTI would have such symptoms but I thank you for your advice. Getting medical attention is important and many of us tend it ignore symptoms when we get them. I'm glad your sister is having a good time in Hawaii. That resort looks amazing.

Aren’t those symptoms crazy? For a UTI! Yes, that resort looks really cool. I never thought I wanted to go to Hawaii until her pictures!

@AmbiePam Yes those symptoms for UTI are wild and never in a million years would have guessed. I would love to go to Hawaii but it's unlikely. But, I never say never

I went to the ER when I was having much more than usual difficulty walking. I thought I would fall. It was a UTI. I hope your appointment goes well.

I'm afraid of doctors and always ignore them when I feel bad.

This happens with me especially during vacations. Everyday seems to be a Sunday.

It's a pain in the backside to change doctors at the VA, so I wouldn't even want to think of trying it in civilian offices. Sorry the doctor is a jerk, but sometimes you have to do what you have to do to protect your own health. (A suggestion: do NOT ask your insurance company for a recommendation...I got stuck with a horrible doctor whose partner got busted for a prescription scam after I'd moved to another doctor!) I'm that way when I go to the ER...as soon as they tell me it's not life threatening, I want to leave to make room for a veteran who needs the spot and does (or may) have a life-threatening issue. The medical readouts on my watch have REALLY minimized my panic attacks lately, but I'll still go if I'm not sure and let them tell me it's a panic attack. Great advice!!
