An update of sorts.

Son had surgery this past week and it was, well, a hard week. He is here now and doing a lot of resting and trying to feel better. Yesterday, he ate some homemade chicken soup, today, he hasn't really decided what sounds good. He talked some about split pea soup, so I put the ingredients in the crock pot and it smells good. If he changes his mind, I will eat some of it and it will go into the freezer for another day. He is mostly resting and not eating a lot for now.
Son is thankful for the prayers, caring thoughts, and good wishes from everyone. It means a lot to know that people care...his 93 year old grandmother called, she is so frail, but she wanted to check on him. That meant a lot to him yesterday.
People here are SO excited, and you'll never guess why. It's RAINING!! Not very much or very hard, but it is coming down lightly. People are even outside walking in it, we've waited a long time for rain. Later today it may turn into a nasty, lashing rain, so I guess they are out enjoying it now. I am so thankful...it's been horribly dusty, the crop dust has been so thick that it's sometimes hard to see to drive. Plus, hard to breathe for so many of us. My allergies welcome the rain!

Thank you Lenore. I have been watching it off and on, all the protests I’ve seen seem to be calm and well organized.

@MarieCoyle Hubby slept in. I decided to start a batch of bread. We're not going to make it to the protest. All the ones that I have seen look peaceful.

Soups are so great for those healing after surgery. Easy to eat and so delicious and good for the patient. So nice that his grandmother called. I hope she is doing alright.
We've had a little rain here too. It's so nice. I'm glad you are getting some there. Dustiness is no fun. I think my allergies welcome it too.
I hope you are having a nice weekend. I also hope that your son heals well and as quickly as can be expected. Best wishes.

Grandma and Grandpa live in a senior living place in Florida that is really nice, they love it there. They have help, etc. and some family nearby if needed. They are very frail...Grandpa has a walker as his balance is way crazy, and Grandma has a wheelchair, and is on oxygen full time, but she gets around, and so does he. They get sick very easily so usually don't go places. But their minds are very sharp, no dementia or anything, which is a blessing.

Oh, we are enjoying it. Son said it sounded so good to just hear it, we opened a few windows a bit for awhile to hear it. But it's getting a lot cooler, so we shut them.

Grandma and Grandpa have both beat the odds at 93. As I said, they are very frail, but they are still sharp as a tack. Thank you for your prayers.

At least he’s eating soup and jello, I am thankful for that. We only had a very light rain so far, but according to our weather people we should get a lot tonight. I sure do hope that they are right!! Thank you.

I’m glad to hear he can eat a little. I know keeping up some semblance of strength is so important.
And yay for rain! It looks rainy today, but I don’t think central Oklahoma is going to get any. I’ll be glad for any part of Oklahoma to get rain.

I hope he has a way to stay hydraded and getting nutrition in him. He's going to need as much as he can to heal. Other than that, I wish you the best with recovery.

He is constantly drinking, he always has. He has had some Sprite and lots of ice water today. Thank you.

So happy he is back home and slowly getting better. We had a good rainstorm the other day., now its mid 80's and clear as can be, gorgeous day. It is so nice to get a good rain storm every now and then and enjoy it while you can. It feels good this time of year to get one.

We have not had any measurable rain for weeks. Everything is so dry, there have been lots of fires. Not to mention an incredible amount of crop dust—whether you live in a city or town here doesn’t matter during harvest season. When it’s this dry, we all suffer. Thanks so much!
