The shredding truck was on the same street as the cemetery; so cousin #2 loaded up my rollator; and we went to see the new gravestone. Being there hit me really hard and has ruined my weekend. Man, I still miss my husband so much.
Breakfast - PB&J sandwich
Lunch - Chicken Alfredo and monkey bread for dessert
Dessert/Snack - Granola bar
Dinner - PB&J sandwich, veggie straws, yogurt, more monkey bread
What did you eat yesterday?

Yes, I should give myself a break because it hasn't even been a year yet.

I was hoping that I would handle it better; but it hasn't been even a year yet.

That must have been a 2 way punch. I'm deeply sorry and wish I could give you some hugs.

Time heals all wounds, but I imagine, when you are with someone as long as you were with your husband, that's going to take longer. I hope you feel better soon.
For dinner it was more leftovers. I had some taco pot pie thingy stuff and finished off some chicken parmigiana. I might spring for something different today, but we'll see.

Yes, I wasn't expecting the sadness. I should give myself a break since it hasn't even been a year yet.
Cousin #2 made a family size chicken Alfredo dinner for me. There's enough for dinner tonight too.

Somehow, visiting the grave of a loved one for the first time or for a lifetime, can really and truly slap you in the face with reality. Not that you don't live in reality, but it's so definite, and so hard. I can say that the first time is the hardest, at least for me. But as you say, it hasn't been a year yet. And a year isn't even enough at times, to get through the worst of it. You were married over 50 years, that's a long time. Cut yourself a break.
I haven't made monkey bread in years and years. The kids used to like it and also liked to make it on the weekends sometimes.
