There are mosquitos for the first time ever in Iceland due to climate change. It has been raining and raining and thundering for hours and hours. I hope the basement doesn't flood. The guy from Terminix that came yesterday was the inspector, not a technician. He said that there were about 5 dead mice in the basement. He wanted to see what was going on in the attic (it''s a crawlspace); so he put up a ladder and inspected it. He claims that the one portion of the attic is infested and needs to be cleaned out, sealed up and the insulation removed. He said the charge for 1/3 of the attic will be $7,000. He is out of his mind. That means the whole attic would be $21,000; and I would have to have someone come and replace all the insulation. The technician is coming today to clean up the mice in the basement and reset the traps and baits. I will have him put some in the attic. Who's to say that there is CURRENT activity up there. It could be from years ago. I am so upset about these mice. Why did I pay for a $1,000 exclusion if they are still getting in? Got an email from cousin #3. She apologized for being MIA and said she is dropping the real estate...it's just too much. Said she will be in touch...whatever. Breakfast - PB&J sandwich Lunch - Meals on Wheels - Chicken Cacciatore, spaghetti, 2 servings of mixed veggies Dessert/Snack - Natural brownie Dinner - Turkey/vegan cheese sandwich, veggie straws, yogurt What did you eat yesterday? Dropping what real estate? Please don't give her your house! She has treated you dismissively.

She has a real estate license and had picked it back up because they needed more money. She can't handle the extra work though. She is home schooling her 2 boys, working 40+ hours online each week along with the boys' activities etc.

I ate two boiled eggs and a hamburger patty for breakfast yesterday, had a bowl of cut oats, a tablespoon of sugar with almond milk for lunch and had a ham and cheese Hot Pocket for supper last night. I'm out of onions and garlic so we need to pick up some groceries today if I can see well enough to drive this afternoon.

@porwest I've read about Scotch eggs and thought they sounded really good but haven't made them, either.

@DaddyEvil They're so easy to make too. I usually just cut the hard-boiled eggs in half, wrap them in ground sausage, bake them, and then drizzle a hollandaise sauce over them. Very good eats.

For some reason, this reminded me I wanted to make a batch of Scotch eggs a while back and haven't done it yet. Soon, I suppose.

Terminix did a really bad job and they charged too much for the very little they did. Cousin #3 suspected you were going to change your will.

Yikes that whole attic expense is nuts. At least you heard from the cousin and I can understand that real estate can be time consuming BUT she still should have at least texted you. I just finished my breakfast ... a high protein cinnamon roll, coffee and grapes. It was soooo good

21k would be a lot of money...that seems crazy. Sorry though that they did that and you are still having issues.

I hope cousin #3 really comes through. Yesterday, I had steak fajitas, and Mexican rice. It was heaven to me.

I don't think I would keep paying them. A lot of people could keep traps set for you for a lot less. Hope number 3 starts coming more

Speaking of dropping her real estate, I continue to think you should drop the idea of giving her yours. Just my two cents worth. For dinner I made a whole chicken in the crock pot and served it shredded over a hot bed of white, Jasmine rice and had buttered green beans on the side. Very good eats.
