Halloween is coming and the ghosts and goblins are ready, The witches are preparing their brooms to fly high. The gravestones in cemeteries are starting to move with impatient bodies wanting to get out. Werewolves will begin to howl. It will be a frightful night and then there is a knock on the door. You think it is trick or treaters and you open the door and see...

I worry for those who use this as a ritual night and harm animals and people. I'm a bah humbug person. They need to outlaw door-to-door trick-or-treating. It's become far too dangerous.

@noni1969 you are probably right parents should let kids make Halloween parties with their friends for fun,

@RasmaSandra I never took my kids out. Only one time did I allow my first husband to take them out but told him only go to people we knew. He took them on a street with strangers and someone put moth balls in my kids bags and we had to toss it all. He couldn't remember the houses. We turned it in to the police so they could investigate and see if other kids had it happen too. They never caught the person. Never again allowed it. We did parties with movies, candy and dressing up. They had more fun handing out candy to those who came to the door. Later, we would go to the church parties.

My concern is that my cats who have black coats on them could be harmed by a stranger.

Did you hear of that moron family who decided to dress in costumes and go terrorize other family members at a different residence? The police came swarming, and the video of the security cams went viral. An adult woman got her two teens, and proceeded to scare the heck out of her sister-in-law. Tips poured in and the relatives got busted. Let’s hope what is supposed to be fun stays fun. Because that’s all it should be seen as.

I fully agree with @noni1959 door-to-door trick-or-treating has become far too dangerous. Parents should start to consider only private kids parties inside their home.

...a guy wanting to check in about my car's extended warranty. lol. I won't have to worry though. My light will be off and I will be receiving no one.

Oh man, you set that up too good—now I’m actually spooked. If that door creaks open and it’s not a kid in a costume, I’m grabbing my keys and getting the hell out.
