Funeral Sandwiches

If you think that is strange, imagine opening your email and finding an email with the title "funeral sandwiches." I thought perhaps someone wanted to get rid of me. Of course, being curious, I just had to take a look at what this bizarre recipe was all about. Yes, I also Googled them, and there are many different recipes out there under this name.
It turned out that I have no idea why these sandwiches have to have such a depressing name, but they sound great to make. Apparently you can use Hawaiian sweet rolls or potato or egg rolls just as long as the buns are soft. Cut them in half and add thinly sliced deli ham, Swiss cheese, and dill pickle slices. You’ll top these with melted butter, chopped onions, and Dijon mustard. Then bake them until golden brown or place them in the microwave.
They sound good to me, but boy, what a name. I suggest you use their other name, which is Cuban Sliders. If you happen to get an email that mentions a funeral, don’t get spooked; it might just be something else good to eat.

The name is not a good option but I will check the recipe myself.
But I would not heat the in the micriwave oven. I don´t like anything with wheat flour heated there.

@RasmaSandra I have a small electric oven, big enough to bake a chicken. I would heat it there ubtil the cheese is melted.

@marguicha the cheese could probably be melted in a toaster oven as well

They sound good and very similar to what I make when I'm feeling lazy but hungry. I just leave out the pickles.

Yeah, that name is an attention getter. Is that why it was named that way? I wonder.
