My Meds

I called the pharmacy this morning and was told that they issued partial prescriptions because they were trying to line all my meds up so they could be delivered on the same day... When I pointed out that I ran out last month several days early, the pharmacist had to check their records and then told me if I ever run out, to contact them immediately. My blood pressure meds all say to take "as needed" which was fine when I still had a working blood pressure monitor but, my monitor died several months ago. My doctor knows that but the pharmacy didn't. With the working blood pressure monitor, I was taking 4 to 5 blood pressure pills a week, not 14 of them. So, of course I ran out. (When the monitor died, my doctor told me to just take them twice a day until I could get a new monitor.) So, at least now we know.

Still, it’d be nice if they kept you in the loop. Did they charge you less for fewer pills? (Of course not….)

I don't know since Medicaid pays for them and we don't get anything from Medicaid that tells us that.

Are you going to get a new BP monitor? They come pretty inexpensive at places like Wal-Mart.

I hope so but "pretty inexpensive" for someone who doesn't have an income is still expensive.

If only they felt the need to keep people informed.

Does your favorite pharmacy not have a BP machine available for people to check theirr own BP?

Walmart does but how do I get there? Most of the time I can't see to drive and Pretty can't drive. It's a two mile walk from our house on the highway.

@DaddyEvil I see... Nothing closer? Or anyone who could take you there?

@BarBaraPrz The pharmacy we use now is also two miles away through the city but I don't go there. They deliver my meds. I could call my brother but he gets cranky if I need rides when there's nothing wrong with my car.

Two pills a day is a lot I hope you can reduce the number.

That was how many pills I needed before I got the monitor and weighed 100 lbs less.
