The US Mint will soon press the last penny. The US Treasury Chief said "substantial tariff relief is coming for coffee and bananas". The MegaMillions jackpot is now $965 million. The parts for my washer will arrive today! Finally! I will call today to schedule installation. I had to reschedule the lawyer appointment from today. I will be going in December. I wasn't going to write about gravel man anymore; but so many people are curious as to what is happening that I will give you an update. He cancelled on Wednesday, saying he was sorry and would give me a rain check. He has 3 business meetings scheduled between Friday and Saturday. I am so devastated I may never recover. HA HA HA HA HA I told him, "No biggie". lol Breakfast - Oatmeal bar Lunch - Meals on Wheels - Beef and Noodles (some of the worst beef I have ever eaten), mixed veggies, cauliflower, pineapple Dessert/Snack - Natural brownie, 70% dark chocolate, unsalted peanuts Dinner - Turkey/vegan cheese sandwich, veggie straws, peaches What did you eat yesterday? I would actually be sad to lose the penny. I even have an idea to save it. Granted, the penny may no longer be minted, but it will still be accepted and used for decades to come. For dinner I made Manwich baked chicken thighs with buttered peas and baked potato on the side. Filled the bill.

Yes, the penny has been around our entire lives. As you said, it will still be used.

@LindaOHio There are hundreds of billions locked away in jars and other places. Regardless of whether or not they are minted, they are still legal tender. I imagine people could turn them into their banks worst case scenario and convert them to cash.

I had the usual for lunch, and a big salad with low-fat Wheat Thins and cheese for dinner. Applesauce and yogurt and fiber!

Tariff relief on bananas and coffee huh? Wish they could get us some decent bananas. The last couple of years the ones we get here are awful. I don't even buy any now because they are so awful. I keep forgetting to buy a lottery ticket. This gravel guy sure turned out to be a jerk.

We have good bananas here. Gravel guy is very busy with his business. If he doesn't reschedule, THEN he is a jerk.

I read where the penny is still legal tender, you can still use it. I have a bunch I need to roll. I have those penny roll papers. Concerning the price of coffee, it is sky high. It will be interesting to see if the tarrifs lower the price.

I have a feeling retailers won't lower the prices.

@LindaOHio - The EURO is a new currency, it was created in 1999, but I miss the little penny, it had a short life.

Yum. It's 4:40 am; and I'm hungry. There are several PB&Js in the fridge; and I hear one calling my name.

It makes me a tad sentimental thinking about no longer producing the penny. Why, I don’t know. Yesterday, I had chips and French onion dip, a cutie, and spaghetti with meatballs.

That's a bit of a letdown by gravel man but perhaps it's all for the best.

Sounds like a busy time with all of that. I heard that pennies will be no more. That would be a nice amount to win...but not so sure it is worth losing $5 to try...
