Spreading good around

Friend brought a bag filled with lovely newsletters from various charities- mostly animals. Gorgeous photography and information about places I've never traveled to. It was nice of her to bring me the stack BUT that meant another stack of stuff in my house. I looked them over and decided I would put them in the plastic tub that somebody brings to the gym pool lobby. The tub is there for folks who have too many paperback books- put your books in there and they will be brought to the hospital so that bored patients have something to read. Yesterday hubby went to a naturopath Doc. Doc said he could help his knee pain by doing exercises and it wouldn't hurt to stay hydrated. Muscles do best when there is a good amount of water in the body. Huge hint to me. I don't drink much of anything and for sure every day is a new adventure in pain. We put in 35 minutes of pool exercise this morning. We've met our goal of going twice this week to the pool. Now I can loaf around and think about chocolate?

I hope you start drinking more water, both of you... I hate the taste of water so I add a little lemon, orange or lime juice to my water. I'm still not happy about drinking it but the juice flavors do help, even if they're just lightly flavored. I hope you and your hubby are having a wonderful day. The hint about taking books to the hospital is interesting... I'll call the local hospital and ask if they'd like some free books to pass out to bored patients.

@sallypup I'm sure you're right. The few times I've been in the hospital, I asked for books to read.

@DaddyEvill Some of the publications I gave have large photographs of animals. I hate to just toss lovely photographs into the recycler. I bet there are patients who need a distraction.

Staying hydraded seems to be a good challenge for many americans.

@sallypup Yeah, I know. You can get water from a lot of foods, too. But people rarely-if-ever talk about it. You almost always hear drink eight to ten glasses of water/day. You almost never hear people talking about hydrating drink options, or foods that would help with the water thing.

@kaylachan There's always more to do than drink water.

@kaylachan Agreed. Eating food like cooked broccoli or cauliflower must add some liquid to the body.

I am needing to do some knee exercises myself. I even know them, just do not make the time to do them. Fruits and veggies do add water to the system. So, too, do soups and such.

You better start guzzling that water, girl! I’m glad that your husband can be helped by exercises. That sounds promising.

Glad you husband can be helped by exercises. When I though my bum knee had retired and I would be hobbly forwever more I listened to my favorite music and forgot myself and did a few dance steps, That did it and since then my knee is once again acting normal, Go figure,

@MarieCoyle It's my fault that we did not choose another single story ranch house.

@sallypup Use it or lose it is so true! So many people have problems with mobility that would be somewhat better if they did some simple movements or even chair exercises. I don’t envy you having stairs, I am so glad to not have to climb stairs anymore!

I struggle to drink enough. With the kidney disease I know I have to; but it's still difficult.
