Guess what kitchen implement I haven't used in a long time? I will give you a hint. I am making a casserole. This is hard work..that is why I avoid using it It's also time consuming.

May be an oven-safe baking dish.

@AmbiePam I think they are really good. I am using taco flavored turkey sausage in it for an interesting twist.

I cheat and buy frozen pre shredded potatoes. The hard work will make you relish it even more.

I think the homemade hash browns have a slightly better taste.

I saw the answer. Hubby always preferred to grate his potatoes for potato pancakes. Using the blender was just not as good in his opinion.

The casserole was easy grating the potatoes was not. I didn't have any frozen hash browns.

@porwest Like I said, I had these potatoes to use up anyway, so I guess it worked out.

@snowy22315 Oh. Yeah, sometimes a grater can be a bit of work. Things go pretty quick for me when I use one. Mostly for cheese. In a casserole I'd probably prefer frozen hashbrowns. But if you don't have any, I guess a grater it is. lol

I couldn't help cheating either. If I have to do a lot of grating, it really makes my shoulders ache.
