A creative mother and child

I’ve written before about Nungarin and the market day we attended. I loved the creative metalwork that was on display. This mother and child is created from a large and a small pair of pliers along with other bits and pieces. They’re pretty cute. It’s a good thing I’m decluttering or I might have bought these. The guy who made these is an engine-driver with the railways. Most of Vince’s family were involved in the railways so he and the guy shared a few stories.

Very neat! We had a vendor at one of the events I did in September that does that kind of crafting. They use any kind of metal they can get their hands on. The figures and figurines that they make are very cute!!

They must have very fertile imaginations.

The woman's dress is interesting... I've seen a picture (within the last 10 years, I believe) that a movie star or model was wearing that looked just like that but theirs was made of cloth, of course. The ice cream cone the kid is holding is interesting, too. I'm sure Vince and the artist enjoyed talking together.

They make items that are totally at odds with the material they start with. They're very clever.

@JudyEv Same as you, I am not very good in seeing figures looking at objects.

I would never have thought of a person if I'd picked up a pair of pliers.

I would never look at a pair of pliers and imagine a person.

It's truly amazing what some people can do with old, discarded items and some imagination. I love this!

@JudyEv I know what you mean. I already have more than enough knick-knacks the way it is!

I like these, quite creative. You actually forget that they are tools. My dad's dad spent a few years making doll furniture, etc. out of cans. Great, creative people.

The mother really looks like a mother but what the child is holding, I strained my eyes to figure out. And what is the clip like piece supposed to be. Whatever. The artwork is admirable.

Now I've had a better look, I think the clip is just to hold the man's business card so really nothing to do with the child.
