I used to eat a lot of pineapple. I'd eat so much that my mouth would get sore. They are so sweet and delicious. But the price went up and I went elsewhere. I just enjoyed a few pieces of one that came in the food box this time. I sure enjoy the flavor of a ripe pineapple.
Pineapples are rich in vitamin C, and bone healthy magnesium. It also has a enzyme, bromelain, that is good for the digestion and has anti- inflammatory properties.
When you pick a pineapple choose one that is heavy or its size and has no soft spots. If it isn't quite ripe put it in a brown paper bag and leave it overnight.
A nice way to fix a fruit salad is to take a ripe pineapple, carve it out and put all different fruits in one half. Add plain yogurt and you have quite a dish for parties. You can use tangerines, blueberries, strawberries any fruit that is firm.

Pretty likes pineapple but the bromelain affects her mouth fast so doesn't eat it often. I will eat a small amount but don't like it very well. I will drink the juice mixed with other juices, though.
We've never bought a pineapple fresh. Pretty will buy very small cans of it but only eats a few bites and is done. The rest usually gets thrown away.

I like it mixed with just the right amount of grapefruit juice.

@celticeagle I've never tried it with grapefruit juice. I'm not allowed to drink grapefruit juice or eat grapefruits anymore.

@DaddyEvil .......I used to get a can of grapefruit juice and one of pineapple. I would pour all of the grapefruit and then just the right amount of pineapple for a very delicious flavor experience.

I do love pineapple …I will eat fresh and tinned but I prefer tinned. My Mom prefers the fresh.

I believe that the tinned does not have the enzyme in it that helps with digestion.

I love pineapples a lot when my relatives could buy them in the store.

That is pretty well described. We get Pineapples very less so we try to sometimes have it in the juice format.
It is obviously not as good as the original.
But sometimes, it is a good change ! 1

I sometimes eat pineapple; but it has a lot of acid for me. It's supposed to be a good fruit for a kidney disease diet though.
