Do any of these appeal to you?

The collage shows some of the items on display at a Sand and Sea Art Exhibition at Wongan Hills in Western Australia. Top left shows a wildflower and a galah created from wood I think and mounted on banksia nuts which have been sliced lengthwise. Banksias are very pretty Australian wildflowers and there are a number of species of them. The nuts are sometimes hollowed out as candle-stick holders or carved in other ways. Top right is an arrangement of dried flowers and grass. Of the two arrangements, I prefer the one on the right. Lower left is a turtle made of scrap and on the right, a coat/hat rack featuring sheep. I think it’s meant to be a coat rack but the eyes and cloven hooves are made of glass. The wool is real too but I can’t imagine trying to dust it. I’m trying to declutter so all I bought was two pot-holders as gifts. Do you find it hard to resist picking up quirky things?

Those all look very interesting but I think the sea turtle is my favorite... And yes, I'm glad they're too far away for me to buy them.

I find hard to buy items that are collector's items unless it is something I need like clothing or compact discs from artists who were famous before I was born.

I love unusual and quirky things. I have to tone it down though because who has the money these days?
