My sister is coming tomorrow.

My sister is in town because my BIL will have cataracts surgery. She is staying at my brother´s house and she´ll come to visit me for a little while tomorrow.
I´m looking foward to her visit. My BIL had a one side fight with me about 15 years ago (or maybe more) and I´m not welcome to his house and he won´t come to mine. Everything is very weird but I have stopped trying to understand it. It just is. So when they come to Santiago for any reason, my sister comes alone for a while to talk to me.
I cherish those moments although with the passing of time there are less things to talk. I have a much easier relation with Dixie or even with some other friends. I see them more often or we talk my phone. And now that I think of it, I have a closer relation with some of you than with part of my family.
So be it. Let´s be happy with what we have.

I'm glad you'll get to visit with your sister tomorrow and hope things go well. I hope her hubby does well with the surgery.
Yes, we have problems with some of my family... We haven't seen some of them for 20-something years or maybe more. I only talk with one brother and his wife now. My sister keeps trying to send me texts but I blocked her number. She doesn't try to come over anymore which is fine. I wouldn't let her in the house anyway.

I don´t even know what I said if I said anything. It was, as I said, a one sided fight. I don´t care anymore. I was hurt for a long time but now I don´t care. My sister comes alone when they come to Santiago and I know that she loves me.

My Mom and her brother (my Uncle) had a falling out where the only way they would communicate was through their Lawyers. As a result, his children (cousins)and my sister and I don't have a relationship anymore with our cousins which is so sad because we were close as children.

I moved on too. The only thing that makes me care about his health is because otherwise my sister might suffer. But he is a complete stranger to me now. His loss.

@marguicha - It was my brother's birthday the past month. I thought it was a nice gesture to send a message to wish him Happy Birthday. He answered saying "I do not understand your message": Well, he is a jerk.

I just went on a trip with my sister, and it is the only thing I can think of where she invited me somewhere. She’s always acted like I didn’t matter. I don’t know what prompted her to invite me, but I’m glad she did.
It’s wonderful that you get to spend time with your sister. I’m sure she’s happy about it too.

I only had the one sister, and we were very close in age. We shared a strong bond. She passed away very young, in 2003. All of those years ago, and I still think of her every day and miss her.
It's so hard when you have to work around family members that are not pleasant. I"m sure sorry.
