Thanksgiving plans

My mother used to do the holiday until my dad passed and then my second mom (her BFF) took over. I don't do well with holiday gatherings after my divorce. I don't know why after all of these years but I just don't enjoy them and can barely eat. This year my sister's family and my mother will be at a field hockey tournament in PA so I was on my own. I was fine with that. One of my second mom's sons who is my age texted me yesterday that he couldn't wait to see me and asked what games I had. Ugh. I was planning to just stay here but now I have to show up there. I told him I had Cards Against Humanity and he was like "excellent! bring it!" It is a dirty game that can be weird to play with your parents but we've done it before. I texted second mom to tell her I'd bring the heart attack mashed potatoes but she said she already had everything and not to bring anything. Fine with me. What are your plans for Thanksgiving?

At least you'll get out of your house for a while and have good company, to boot. I'll cook and then Pretty and I will spend the day snacking on turkey and everything else. We're boring people. *shrug*

I'm boring too. I'd rather just stay here.

@NJChicaa You should have told him you'd rather stay home, then.

While I’m one who likes to be by herself, I’m glad you are going. And I really hope you have a good time. For Thanksgiving day I’ll be watching football. My sister and her family will be going to Kansas, and my dad and stepmom will be at her family’s. But the next day we’ll all go to my dad’s for our own family Thanksgiving. I’m bringing sausage balls. It’s been forever since I’ve had them, and they sounded good. I know I spent a week with my sister and her family, but I’ll be glad to see the kid’s again by that time,

I plan on hopping houses, only 2, so no one can claim I favor anyone over the other, and also to mooch a little food and have the kids see everyone. I also will still make our own thanksgivng dinner in order to have throughout the week like normal and so my boyfriend who will be working until 5pm will have some food he can eat at home. I kinda wish I had not decided to go anywhere but i'm trying to keep a 2hr minimum on these visits.

My older daughter does Thanksgiving so I'm looking forward to a big family gathering, plenty of food and I'm bringing an apple crumb pie. Personally, I like coming home with leftover and enjoy them more than the actual dinner itself.
