3 days until the big event. I really haven't done anything to get ready either other than make the motel reservation. There isn't a lot to do, but I do want to bring a couple of things for the event. That means I am going to have to get a few groceries. I just saw a recipe for gingerbread cheesecake dip. Doesn't that sound good? Finally, I can use my molasses. I think I have some, if I can get the bottle open that is...

Yes, I just texted sis to see if my mom and dad are still coming. My mother didn't want to go if there was a snow storm, and although it doesn't look too bad they will have some snow..There could be 4 to 8 inches. It will be a bummer if they don't come though as I was not planning to go up there for Christmas.

@snowy22315 going to my parents whose house is across the street. We are supposed to get snow I’ve heard so not having to drive anywhere will be nice.

Just going for dinner on Thursday, and will visit again Friday morning. It would be nice to stay 2 days, but I will have all I need of friend for the next few days. Besides she will be taking my mom and dad back on Friday, and staying up there. Looks like there could be snow at some point as well.I know it won't snow here but Friday there could be some. I will look at the forecast for up there.

Your dip sounds really good and I've never had anything like that. Hope your trip goes smoothly and that there's no snow to keep your parents from joining the big day.

@snowy22315 that's the one thing I always worry about when the holidays roll around and that's the weather. Just makes everything iffy

If you can't get the molasses open, hold it under hot water or just float the jar in hot water. Molasses is super sticky, but oh, so good. That dip sounds really yummy.

Yes, I would think to try that. Oddly though, I can't find the bottle. I thought I had some.

Some things in our cabinets or pantry have a way of being invisible when we look for them. They then reappear when we purchase a duplicate!

@MarieCoyle I know...isn't that maddening? Maybe I didn't have it in the first place..although I do have corn syrup.

I don't think there is anything quite so sticky as molasses.

That dip sounds luscious. Try warm water on the jar lid or rap it on the counter. If the jar is new, try a bottle opener and release the pressure.
