Any favorite ornaments?

I’ve loved Chihuahuas since Taco Bell had those commercials featuring a talking Chihuahua (I even collected the talking Chihuahua toys). So when I was seventeen my parents got me a Chihuahua from a local rescue, and I named him Leno. After him came more Chihuahuas: Sherlock (3/4 Chihuahua / 1/4 Corgi), Annabelle, and pictured, is Sadie. All of them were calm, sweet, and not yappy at all. Until Sadie! Unlike the others, I didn’t rescue her as a puppy; she was already four years old. After four years though, she’s mellowed out, and is a complete love bug. When my best friend dropped Sadie off after keeping her during my vacation, she brought me this ornament too! I absolutely love it, although Sadie is not impressed. Do you have a favorite or no, now, or in the past?

Both the ornament and Sadie are adorable. Every ornament on my tree is a favorite, although a few are more special.

I remember we had this conversation last year. I believe it was one from Nathan that you mentioned last year that was so special. I could be wrong, but I think that is the one you showed me.

@AmbiePam You're right, it was two that Nathan recorded when he was very young.

This is such a cute statuette. I had some very nice glass ornaments in the past, I gave them to my niece. My favorite was a little pink ballerina.

@AmbiePam It was so pretty, I fear it broke, many of those old decorations have been lost.

We collect stars, and get a new one most every year. It is based on a tradition from Finland that I read about. The book says the home owner would make a canopy and hang stars from it. Hubby is Finlander by birth, at least half, so we developed this tradition.I found a cool star at the thrift shop last week for us.

Yo quiero Taco Bell . Oh my gosh I am totally busting up over Sadie's reaction here . Not sure if I have an absolute favorite ornament. But my daughter's friend's mother did woodburn ornaments for the families in our friend group. She woodburned 4 bears on a teeny wood plaque for us with our last name on it - we cherish it!

That's a cute statue. As I was growing up on the farm, dad always had at least one chihuahua in the house. Tiny was the first one I remember. She grew up with me. When she was getting old, she sneaked out of the house and met a boyfriend and had a single puppy we named Peanut. Peanut was always getting out no matter how hard we tried to keep him inside until he was taken... Then Tiny escaped again and had another teeny tiny puppy we named Bouncer. Dad carried Bouncer around in his shirt pocket during the summer and in a coat pocket during the winter. I've never had favorite ornaments.

@AmbiePam I wish we did, too. Mom had a camera but didn't take many pictures. She said film was too expensive.

That's cute and so is Sadie. I don't have any special ornaments. I was never an ornament collector.

I haven't seen my ornaments in well over a decade--probably closer to 15 years. I don't even remember what I have. For years just plain bad luck (weather, firehouse not being staffed to sell trees, etc) foiled our attempts to get a tree. Now I don't have room for one here in this apartment.
