Grouch. So many are grouchy these days . . . what a grouchy world we live in . I found this children's book in one of those Free Little Libraries. How To Be a Grouch. It's "written" by one of our most famous grouches in America . . . Oscar the Grouch from Sesame Street. I did the world a favor . I took this book home to take it out of circulation. We don't need any more people learning how to be a grouch . Reading it gave me a good laugh. Perhaps I won't be so grouchy today Does anyone need to know how to be a grouch . . . or maybe you are pro like me ? May you all stay away from grouchiness.

I used to work with a few grouches, I prefer to be as funny as I can be to get people laughing ...... or at least smiling. Now I'm curious about that book, if it made you giggle it's probably worth reading. Still no rain here, did you get more?

Oh what fun to deal with work grouches . . . there was ALWAYS a grouchy co-worker or even boss. Maybe they even thought that of me . I grew up with Sesame Street, so I've always been a fan of Oscar the Grouch. Maybe I should take pics of some of the better pages and msg it to ya! Last week's rain was heavy - believe me the ground is still saturated. No more for now - it appears we will be quite warm the rest of the week. But who knows about next week . . . by Sunday it's supposed to get a little cooler anyway. I hope you get some rain (just not the super heavy kind!).

Yeah, they were fun, I was the bouncy happy morning person and drove all of em nuts, they'd see me coming and hide As long as it rains late at night and not for too long I'm ok with it but if it rains during the day it gets way too muddy which Roscoe tracks inside. It's not too cold during the day but from about 6pm til about 10am it's been cold ..... to me cold is anything below 55f. I really don't know much about Sesame except for kermit & miss piggy, by the time it started I was in my teens. I do remember Captain Kangaroo though, never saw a lot of his shows but I was still young enough to enjoy what few shows I saw. OMG, I'z olddddddddd.

@rebelann I would've loved to have you as a co-worker ! Anti-grouch . Does Roscoe enjoy the rain? I wonder if they have doggie rain boots. I wore my rain boots all last week . . . it rained day and night . . . for long stretches of time which of course is rare here. We have less "mud" out in back because we have those weeds again . . . we can step on all that green now . It's been mid 70s thus far . . . tonight I stepped out and it really wasn't all that cold. Weird how the weather switched like that. I don't know about next week though. I think below 60 is cold enough for me. Kermit is classic. Miss Piggy was part of The Muppets - which came after - but I loved all of Jim Hensen's creations. Captain Kangaroo - I used to watch him all the time though I don't remember any specific thing now. I remember his haircut and red jacket . Believe me, I'm feeling it too .

I am not a pro, but my husband surely does not need to learn to be a grouch. Today he is particularly grumpy.

I guess for some it's easier to remain grouchy rather than be proactive to make a change.

At least The Grinch changed his ways . . . maybe someday Oscar the Grouch can do the same. But I dunno about the human ones . . . some of them seem to stay in that mode .

@much2say I seriously doubt Oscar will change his ways, either.

@DaddyEvil Right. If Oscar changed, he wouldn't be as interesting, so he'd get booted out of Sesame Street .

We can admit to being grouches and at least be honest about it . I can be like that after a night of blah sleep (which is often ).

I think we are good to go in this world without this book. It seems to come too easily to so many people!

I am often a grouch when lost in my own thoughts. But I try to "keep on the sunny side" when out and about.

I know nothing about the "Oscar the Grouch from Sesame Street",but know few people want to be a grouch unless something stretches their patience to the limit.
