Incompetent urgent care

Against my better judgment, last Wednesday I went to our local urgent care (I was too sick to travel an hour away) and was told I was negative for flu and covid. Had Bronchitis.
Kept feeling worse, had an absolute horrible night last night. I couldn't stop coughing, couldn't breathe, really wondered if I might die.
First thing this morning Dale took me to an ER. Well, I do have the flu. Got several kinds of meds, so I'm praying I'll improve.
It's the grace of God Dale hasn't caught it.
That urgent care place should be put out of business. It's not the first time of trouble with them. But it will be the last.
But some good news: we're having our Christmas Eve dinner at our son Robert's house. We'll still open gifts here Christmas morning. Even though they would have helped, it's such a relief.
Hope your December is off to a better start than mine!

@1creekgirl - There are so many incompetent doctors in our days. I am scared at the idea to need a major surgery.

So sorry to know that you’re not feeling well right now. That urgent care should have prescribed you something for your condition. But good thing tgat you’ve decided to go to ER and have a better treatment. Hope that you’re feeling better by now.

I'm so sorry you had a bad experience with your Urgent Care. Earlier this year I had an ear infection and had to use our Urgent Care here in town. They were excellent. I pray you recover quickly from the Flu.

We have a really good Urgent Care center right down the road from where I live. It's owned by two doctors (one works on day shift and the other on night shift). Great service, very efficient, and they care about their customers. I too had a really bad case of bronchitis, tested negative for flu and covid, and received first class care at urgent care. Sorry your experiences weren't as great. I've seen some pretty sketchy urgent care centers before.

We have a good one about an hour away, but this local one is awful.

@moffittjc At least there's a good ER about 30 minutes away.

@1creekgirl It suck’s that the good one is so far away from you. Might be worth the drive in a non-life threatening emergency, but probably not doable if your life is in jeopardy.

My son got a new med today, too. He made the comment that there are days that he would love to toss them all in the trash...but he knew that wasn't the answer. So often it seems the side effects of medicines are worse than the disease.

I remember when I had the flu (way back in the late 80s). I felt as if I was dying, too. Hope you get feeling better soon.

That's terrible they couldn't get a simple thing like that right. Glad you finally got the right diagnosis. Christmas sounds good

Thanks, Snowy. It's bad to misdiagnose the flu. I could have gotten on Tamiflu.
