Do any Amish or Mennonites live in your area?

I didn't think we had any here in this region at all, but I did see a horse and buggy sign on a road not far from here which is a big indication. However, they don't have a presence in this community. However, west of here they do. As I mentioned I was in an Amish marketplace the other day, however the people working in there were Mennonite. Mennonites have fewer prohibitions than Amish However, some handmade local Amish goods were available and I got a handpainted Christmas decoration which is really gorgeous and I have to find a good place to put it. I think it will go on my display table. Amish excel at carpentry, and furniture making.

There are alot in the US, but they are clustered in certain areas. Pennsylvania, Ohio, Ontario all have a lot of their communities.

There are some in Indiana and Ohio, but I don’t think we have an Amish community in Kentucky. If we do, I haven’t found it.

@snowy22315 — we had Shakers nearby (there’s a Shaker village that I haven’t made it to yet) that I know of. I’m pretty sure there are Amish somewhere nearby, because I have seen some at hospitals.

Yes, in Juarez there are Mennonites but they have huge pickup trucks and when they come to EP it's usually to shop at Sams for large appliances, apparently they use electricity but they are easy to spot because the women always have scarves on their heads and wear bobby socks and loafers, very plainly dressed.

Yes, Mennonites dress differently, but have fewer restrictions than the Amish. Never thought about them being in Mexico.

Excellent crafters, carpenters and bakers. A team of them can build a barn in a very short period of time. They call it a barn raising.

Every time I go to Branson, Missouri, I go to the Amish store. I see them on the interstate in their buggies, and always get nervous driving by them. Of course, there are always signs warning about being careful, but it still makes me nervous.

Lancaster, Pa is well known for Amish and it's about 2 hours away from where I live. I haven't been there in years but it was interesting to visit.

I used to like to visit in PA Dutch country when I lived closer. However, like I said there are some bakeries and businesses around that are run by Mennonites..They are in the areas NW of here.
