Getting a new water heater.

Domingo is replacing my water heater right now.
The old one finally died after I don't know how many years.
I have no water right now, and my apartment is freezing, because we're draining the old water heater through the front door (via a hose).
Hopefully things will be "normal" here by the time I head to work.

I replaced mine a couple of years ago, so I should be good for most of the rest of my life.

@FourWalls Hopefully, our last one lasted my sister 30 years and was not the problem, we just replaced it because we were tired of the water pipes bursting all the time. The water heater is the only thing that never let her down.

@TheHorse No, I haven’t had any in 11 years. But there’s something in those pipes I’m allergic to so when the water touches my skin I break out in a rash anyway.
Thankfully, I have a dad who couldn’t care less if I use his bathroom. And during the summer, cold showers aren’t bad (itchy ones are).

Don't you have any portable kind of hot air blowers as a backup.
Highly technical solutions are good but at the time of replacement, one does faces certain challenges.

@TheHorse As long as you don't make Kitty freeze, then you're alright.

I've replaced many water heaters and the worst is when they "go" and flood the basement. Hope they can get yours replaced quickly and you don't freeze.

How much did it cost you? I am curious because we got all of water pipes done and a new water heater and they redid the housing for it. 15,000 Dollars. I was thinking 5 but then remembered inflation the last 5 years, OK 10. This dude admitted to, the guy overseeing the project. It was 10 not to long ago, but prices went up again. I felt sick to my stomach.
I am about done with capitalism. Its not any better than socialism, hell, might even start to think its worse than communism if they keep on this path.
