The Housing Saga Continues

Grumpy I am today. Always am when it comes to HOUSING. This morning, I was brought still another memo from Housing. Housing will have another bug spraying service done on December 23rd. (That's two days before Christmas). I called maintenance and was redirected and then redirected again to the apartment manager. Is this going to be an ongoing thing? She told me that they will be continuing this spraying until the bugs are gone. (I don't blame them) She went on to explain how the bugs can get through to the other apartments yadda yadda yadda. I fully understand all of that. (They haven't seen any in our apartment, thank the gods!) She thanked me for calling. I felt like thanking her for actually answering the phone this time, but I did not. I just get aggravated because we just put all the stuff back in order and here is another memo. It takes us a while to do all this moving around. We don't get up and after it until the afternoon. Josh has to do it mostly and moving furniture and heavy bags is not easy for him. It's not like we have big, brawny family members or friends we can call on. It's just two old broken-down arthritic women and a skinny young man that's not that strong. So, it gets old really quick. We have to bag pots and pans, dishes, and silverware and carry them upstairs. (Fixing meals is really fun during this time too.) Then move three pieces of heavy old furniture into the middle of the living room. Move it out of the way of the base boards into the middle of the room, then move it back, then move it out again, On and on now since early November about every other week. 4 times now. I hate being disrupted. We will have to put the turkey in a bag too. We take it out the 23rd to thaw. Ugh! Go away bugs! The picture is from my collection.

Truth? I couldn't do it. I guess I would get into huge trouble cause I can't do it. Especially old dressers and such. They do have wooden wheels but when we moved here I sternly told the movers to not rely on rolling those dressers. Going to have to pack them. Made for grumpy mover guys but they were paid nicely.

I've heard some horror stories about movers. We just aren't very strong. I can't help them and so I feel badly.

@celticeagle I'm not strong either. I'm glad and grateful that hubby was feeling better at the time that we moved.

I would get tired of that, too. I hope it works this time.

Ours continues to remain roach free. It's getting old.

I know it’s a pain, but I’m glad they aren’t just letting the bugs run Willy nilly. I’m scared of getting bugs. One of my neighbors got bed bugs, and I was terrified of getting them. I didn’t get any, but I would have really preferred they do a preventative spray. They don’t make me move all my stuff when they do spray yearly though. It would really hurt my back. It’s a shame they don’t offer you some help.

That does sound like a huge ordeal to accommodate the spraying but I guess in the long run it's better than having to deal with bugs

That will be such an inconvenience. It really sucks.
