Monday, Monday. Let's hope it's a good one.

I had an elderly relative who used to always refer to Monday as ''Blue Monday'' and seemed to dread Mondays in general. She had a stressful job for years; I think that made her dread the beginning of the week. I thought of her today, it's Monday and no sunshine...and it caused me to look up the Blue Monday concept.
What I found that is the shortest explanation--
''"Blue Monday" originated in 2004 as a marketing campaign by UK travel company Sky Travel, which commissioned psychologist Cliff Arnall to create a "formula" for the most depressing day of the year (the third Monday in January) to encourage holiday bookings. The formula combined factors like weather, debt, and failed New Year's resolutions, but Arnall later admitted it's pseudoscience, with the concept now used more for mental health awareness than actual gloom.'' via google.
So evidently, Blue Monday is actually supposed to be in January. It just took off, and people started calling every Monday ''Blue Monday'' and it caught on.
We have a trip to the treatment center, and hopefully it will not take hours. Then we will come back home. I usually don't dread traffic, but this is Christmas week, and the interstate traffic here is nuts right now, so there's that...I will be glad to get back home again. Son asked for chili late last night, so I put some together and it's in the crock pot, we can have that when we get home.
I know, boring and no excitement here...but it's not a Blue Monday, so we're good!!

I think we often consider Monday difficult because we had Sunday at home and then work or school on Monday. It doesn’t bother me, but I know some people don’t like Monday!

Mondays don't really bother me.
The true Blue Monday is on the third Monday of January here in Canada.
It is considered that because it is the 'quiet time' between the holidays and when credit card bills begin to become due.
There is a really easy way to avoid feeling the blue in excess, don't use your c/c for Christmas unless you have the ability to pay it all off come the due date.

I was just wondering if your son is on Medicare or Medicaid, have you considered using medical transport services to take him to some of his appointments (you could attend I am sure), or sharing the load with someone else ocassionally. Having to do those kinds of runs in all kinds of weather...is not good for your mental health or pocketbook.. there may be an easier way to do things.

No Blue Monday. Just my usual depression this time of year brings. That is blue.
Happy Holidays.

I’m glad I don’t have to go anywhere. I have a doctor’s appointment later but that’s the extent of my “travels.” Thankfully, that’s the other side of town, not the other side of the state.

It's not Blue Monday here either. The sun is shining and I'm excited for the week ahead.
Hope you get back and forth to the treatment center easily today. Yum! chili certainly sounds delicious.

Mondays are difficult for many who have to go back to work after the weekend and hate their jobs.
