Out of nowhere the unsavoury memory arrived unbidden and unwelcome this morning of my aunt gifting me some underthings at Christmas when I was 16. Big purple y fronts they were, and several sizes too large. How weird. I suppose it must be the Christmassy atmosphere that prompted this recall that I’d rather have kept repressed. I was kind of shocked and found the gift to be somewhat inappropriate. Three pairs. What was she thinking? They were never worn.

Perhaps she thought it was a festive color? Yes, our memory does dredge up weird things from time to time.

Weird memory that came to your mind, but it happens. I remember when my Mom bought for me a very pretty silk night gown but purple colour, when she knew that it's a colour I hate. Thankfully I could have a pink one bringing back the purple.
