Not a tree

I have gotten this out of it's packing and do not have candles for it, yet.
This is our Christmas this year. It is not a tree, but it is a Nativity with three levels of spinning figures.
The spinning is driven by heat rising from the candles and propelling the blades around.
They are very expensive on e Bay, but I think I got mine as a prize or reward for hosting some kind of a home goods party or something. I would never have had the money to buy it. Selling for around $85 with $56 for shipping.
They were sold originally by Lillian Vernon catalogue. Do you remember those if you live in the states?
In the same container I have some "Angel Chimes" probably gotten the same way. I have never assembled and put candles in it.
Because this used to be stored in the attic, the candles I had melted all together from the heat. I did not find what I needed at Walmart when I was there today, but I bet I can get some on Amazon.
Bob and I have been married for 27 years but I have never gotten this out for us for Christmas. I think it is really neat. My daughter remembers it fondly.
I took this picture from eBay.

This is not really sturdily made, but it is cute. I had to do some repairs with wood glue. I bet the Vermont Country Store ones are nice. My daughter looked them up and they have a German name that means Christmas Pyramid, or something like that.

It is amazing what can come out of the attic. I had to move all my stuff out of the attic when the grant providers added a lot more blown in insulation and a coffer to keep the downstairs warmer.

They will be here by Monday. I will leave this up for a while. I got to thinking Walmart MIGHT have had suitable "utility candles" in the camping area. I was too tired to go look there.

I've never seen anything like that before. It is interesting looking, though.
For a few years, we had a Christmas tree that was meant for yard use but I hung it from the living room ceiling. It was a continuous spiral of lights.
Imagine this hung from the ceiling instead of on a pole in the yard. And I could control the color of the lights in it.

@DaddyEvil It has been a long time since anyone ever helped with the trees. My kids grew up. Neither husband was a decorating type of person.

I am thinking the idea was originally from Germany, but I am not sure. I feel it is definitely European though.

@GardenGerty - Yes, those are known as German Christmas pyramids or candle carousels, which use the heat from lit candles to create movement.

Very folk art, and it feels cozy to set it up.

I like that and it can be in place of a tree, I used to have a gold plate with a fan on top and angels hanging down with horns and when the candles were lit beneath they twirled around and made tinkling sounds,
