Monday (what a blah day)

Happy Monday Everyone! it's a crazy weather day here this morning. We have warmer temperatures above freezing so the icy stuff we got yesterday is melting.
That's the good news. But, since it's warmer we have dense fog which will switch over to gusting winds when the temperatures drop by afternoon.
Our trash pick-up was delayed due first to the Christmas holiday and then delayed again due to freezing icy conditions. So, it's supposed to be picked up today and I'm hoping they come early enough before the weather changes again.
I haven't been here for a few days and did have a wonderful Christmas and birthday. Having the family together is always fun and the only two missing were my oldest grandson and his wife. They weren't able to travel to join us and certainly were missed.
All the holiday hoopla left me exhausted but a good exhausted. My daughter went back to work this morning so we had from Christmas through the weekend to relax and just enjoy the quiet.
Now it's time for me to get back into my routine and get ready to ring in the New Year.

We forgot to put our bins out yesterday so no collection of rubbish now for two weeks. Collection days really get mixed up over the Christmas & New Year period.It does not really matter to us as we do not have much rubbish these days. What we do get a lot of is for recycling which will be due soon. Great news you are using a new Keyboard! Happy New Year to you.

It was a combo Christmas/birthday gift from my daughter. Its so nice and I can actually myLot without being annoyed with all the sticking keys.

@Marilynda1225 That sounds good. The laptop I bought back in July seems to have a weak battery. I may have to replace it at some point. Christmas was fine Thanks. My son was here. That is always a ++.

It's very cold and blustery here this morning. I'm sure you'll get your turn at the cold and strong winds tomorrow. It should end sometime this afternoon here. We have intermittent sunshine here but I can't spare any today. If we have extra tomorrow, I'll see about sending you some.
I'm glad everything went well for you. Pretty and I enjoyed the quiet and had chicken, bell peppers and shallots for Christmas dinner. (We had a lot left over so I put most of it in the freezer for later meals.)

Glad you and Pretty had a nice Christmas and those leftovers will certainly come in handy.
I sent most of our leftover home with my company but kept enough for us to enjoy at some point.
I'm already tired of winter and it's barely started. The ice is the worst. Please send that sun is you have extra. I've forgotten what a sunny day looks like

That weather really can’t make up its mind. Melting ice is definitely good news, even if fog and wind decide to take its place. So soon, things could be better. I hope the trash pickup sneaks in before things turn messy again. It sounds like you had a truly lovely Christmas and birthday, which is wonderful to hear. I had a simple Christmas this time. Family time like that is special, even when a couple of people can’t make it. Being “good exhausted” after the holidays is the best kind of tired. Plus, there is that a good feeling as well. Having a few quiet days to unwind afterward makes such a difference. Getting back into a routine right before the New Year feels just right. And congratulations on the new laptop—no sticking keys is a huge win! Enjoy the time!

Mine started with one key here and there and then a whole bunch that kept sticking. I'm so happy with my new one. Hope you get to replace your keyboard.

@Marilynda1225 - I have a new keyboard, but it's an Italian layout, I have the habit to this Swiss German keyboard layout, so I am reluctant to change it.
