Cats have such a way about them. They watch us more than you think they do. There are things that they do that says, "You are not just my owner you are my chosen human." Here's a few things they do to show us their trust and love for us: * Close range blink. This says they feel safe with us. They look at us lovingly and slowly close their eyes in a blink. (Try it back to them) * That upright tail straight with a curve at the end. The same thing that kittens do to great their moms. This means you are family. * Relaxed whiskers tilted forward is giving you an invitation to get closer. They are ready to interact. Offer them your hand slowly. * Turning their back on you isn't being rude. This is a statement that is telling you they don't feel you are a threat so they can turn away because they don't feel threatened. They can rest near you. * Scent marking you with their face. The pheromones they deposit means this is a safe place for them. * That quiet purr. It's a soft, vocal sound they make meant only for a chosen few humans. There are different ranges of purrs, some are used to manipulate or to get attention. But that low, barely audible one is special. The comfort purr. I think that cats are so interesting. Each one with their own individual personality showing you they care in ways only a cat can.

I had gotten so used to cats, so it's funny living out my life without any.

@celticeagle You would have laughed and laughed yesterday. I let Peter cat go outside for a bit then I called him in. He was by the back shed. He heard me call his name and just that quick began running toward the house. The sight of his white legs pumping up and down in a mad dash was adorable and hilarious.

@celticeagle Oh I've written about them many times. I have Charlie (orange tabby male almost 7), Adso (gray/black tabby male 4.5), and Claire (sort of calico floofy female tabby 1.5).

I can just picture our two as you describe it. Pedro likes to find you asleep, get close to your face and tilt those tickly whiskers forward into your ears, or nose. Luckily, we know he is just loving us, and making sure we are breathing and okay.

We experience some of those things too as manifested by Mameng, our Tom. Everytime he occupies a space from our sofa, we never bother him. We guve him all the time for him until wakes up and leaves

Well, Cats truly do have a quiet, observant wisdom that feels almost sacred at times. The slow blink is one of the most tender gestures, like a silent exchange of trust. That upright tail with the gentle curve always feels like a warm welcome home. These two, bring on the smile and joy for most cat owners. On a deeper note, understanding whisker posture makes their communication feel even more intimate. Even their choice to turn their back on us is a powerful sign of comfort and safety. The soft, almost secret purr is especially meaningful, as if it’s meant just for you. I have always flet that cats don’t demand love loudly; they offer it in subtle, intentional ways. Each small gesture becomes a reminder that being chosen by a cat is something truly special.

Yes, it does. I know what you mean. I hadn't paid a lot of attention to whisker posture until I read this article. I hear that purr every once in a while, and it is rather satisfying.
