Good Start to the New Year

They came today with machines and made a lot of progress. The electrical pipe is now run up from the road, so next week, the electric company's engineer can put in the transformers and run electric up to the house. Trenches were dug, and the septic holding tank was pulled, pumped, and reset. They even started building the front steps (the photo shows the back of the house, so you can’t see them yet).
I’m really hoping that within the next two to three weeks all the electric will be in, stairs to all the doors will be finished, and the inside work will be wrapped up. If all goes well, I should be in a house again by March - maybe even sooner.
Tonight I made tostados for dinner, finished reading Devoted, and started The Alibi. Nothing exciting planned for the weekend, but honestly, that’s okay. Sometimes having nothing that has to be done feels pretty exciting to me.
Do you have weekend plans?

Sounds like things are coming along nicely there. I bet you are excited to be "in a house again by March". I hope it all works out for you.
No weekend plans. Just getting my room and the upstairs dusted and cleaned. Then my daughter and grandson will do some things downstairs.

Did you get this house on a good deal seeing that it didn't have electricity. And is your have to build stairs too it sounds like it was unfinished.
Shortly we're leaving for my daughter's to give our grandkids their Christmas presents

It was built in another state and brought in. It's a manufacturer home. They come in with some finished, but have to hook up electric, plumbing, do the dry wall, carpets, stairs, etc. once the rest of the property is done. If this property would have had electric, etc. from the start, it would have been a fast thing. It was raw. We are on a mountain as well.

I'm excited for you that things are moving along!!! Today cousin #3 is coming to work. If she leaves early enough, cousin #2 is coming to use my dryer and do a few things for me.
