Have you ever stayed in a hotel in the city you live?

I don’t know if I put that coherently. I’ll give an example. Decades ago, when I was still living at home and had been so sick, my parents one day decided to get rid of their carpet and put down laminate flooring (a wise thing when your daughter has a dog). Well, I knew how loud that was going to be, and was dreading getting a migraine. So I got a hotel room for the day and night to avoid the noise. Unfortunately, it took my dad two days, and I could only afford one night in a hotel. On the second night, I got such a terrible migraine (he worked to midnight so it wasn’t like I could go stay at the mall while he finished). Now that you know what I’m talking about, do you have any examples?

I am sorry about your migraine. YES, we stayed two nights in a hotel in the city where we lived when the painters were working inside our home.

Yes, I have. There was a car wreck that hit a power pole and knocked the electricity out to our block. My adjustable bed was in the up position, and without electricity I couldn’t lower it so I could sleep, so I used my points and went to a hotel in town.

A great reason to do that.

When I was moving down here from Norhern Virginia I spent a night in a motel actually close to where I used to live because I wasn't closing on this house until the next day. I guess I must have had the pets with me. I had a dog and a cat at the time. I don't remember that part of the story..

Yes, years ago several friends decided to rent a motel room so we could all use their pool. We rented one room and then I and one other friend stayed in the room overnight. It wasn't the best place but we did enjoy the pool. Later, that motel started charging to use their pool and that was much more affordable.

I'm sure that was horrible for you. No, we've never stayed in a local hotel.

Your staying at the hotel was a good idea except that the work lasted longer than you expected. Nope, I haven't had any reason to stay at a local hotel

No I never have. I thought about it when Big One was little, I was so exhausted I thought I would die (or kill someone), I would have done practically anything for a good night's sleep. I seriously considered booking into a hotel for a night or two but I was afraid that I would spend all that money and actually not be able to sleep because I was so unused to it.

That was a good idea of yours. At least you avoided one day of noise. When we lived about 45 minutes from the city and had to attend a function, we would sometimes stay in a hotel. It was pretty rare though.

No, I’ve never stayed in a hotel in the town I live in. Although we did stay in a hotel just over 30 minutes away …..we went to Stratford upon Avon for a weekend …it is where William Shakespeare lived. We have been often for the day but it was nice to stay over, go shopping, a meal out and a show and have the next day to go sight seeing.
