Good Evening, 8 January - What I'm Thankful for Today

Day has slipped away to night. It's been a long good day. It's been a warm day and half my snow has melted. I expect it will be fully gone before the next snowfall.
I know I haven't been here today or even on WordPress. I see I have a lot of notifications, which will need to wait until tomorrow. Even though I haven't been here, I have been on the computer most of the day.
It's been a good day and I'm thankful.
I'm thankful I woke up this morning with the last shred of this sickness and cold GONE. I have one dose of the medication to take and then that's done for good.
I was supposed to have my hospital appointment this morning. However, with as sick as I've been for the past three weeks, I need to wait a week. So, my next infusion is next Thursday. So is my next chiropractor appointment. So, though I didn't have the infusion, I'm thankful I'm not covered in bruises from the attempt to get the IV started.
I'm thankful I went shopping this morning instead. Now, I'm going to warn you first so the shock won't be too hard. I decided not to buy bananas anymore. Sorry. I have my reasons and I'm sure I'll go through withdrawal, but not until after tomorrow when I eat my last banana. I'll have other fruit to take its place.
I'm thankful for the work I did today on Faith to Believe. It's been a full day on the manuscript except when I wasn't home. My head is ready to bust open. I need a break from the computer, and my back is saying the same thing.
Today is the King's birthday. So I've been listening to Elvis all day. I've always been a huge Elvis fan. I learned something today as I listened to his music that is still playing, he had a lot of Christian music woven in his music. I just never noticed it before. I knew there was some, but not as much as I realized today. That made me very happy.
Okay, that's my day. Time to cancel the music and turn on the television, sit in my recliner and rest my back. It's been a good day. Sorry about the shock.
What are you thankful for today? Let me know in the comments below. Thanks for reading. The image belongs to me.

I am thankful I found the rest of the Christmas money my son gave me for Christmas. I never put it in my wallet. Here I was driving myself crazy thinking I had spent it, but I couldn't remember where, so glad it showed up.

I had to quit eating bananas because of my kidney disease diagnosis. I hope that's not the case with you. I'm thankful that another contractor is coming today to give me an estimate on the work that needs to be done here. I will be able to make a decision after receiving his estimate.

No, it's not a health reason. I'm sorry you had to give them up because of the kidney disease.
I hope the new estimate will be good.

Well I think your cold weather and snow got sent here by mistake. I'll try to send it back that way lol
But that is good you had a good day, even if it was a long one...
That is a shock about the bananas, but we all have the choice to change what we are eating if we want/need.

Please send it my way. I have green grass staring at me this morning and rain.
Thank you. It was a good day.
It's what I need to do. It has nothing to do with my health.

@just4him Well I told it to go that way instead, lol.
That's good it was a good day
and well that is good that it doesn't have anything to do with health at least.

You have every right to change the foods you're eating, and you don't have to feel like you need to justify it to anyone.
I'm thankful for the home day. While I enjoy going for rides in the van. Doing the shopping in--person and spending the one-on-one time with George, I am thankful when he wants to stay home. I was able to not only get laundry done. But managed to clean some of the house. Got the trash down to the dumpster and an overly full recycle bin. While my house isn't clean, it's not near as bad as some of the trash heaps you'd see on television.
I'm thankful for everything that I've got and I wouldn't trade it for anything.

@just4him There are times over the past two or so years of stroke recovery he's scared me or said things he likely shouldn't or didn't mean. But... I know he has a lot to live for and that in and of itself is something to be thankful for.

I hope that God can give you a quick recovery and complete healing.
I am thankful for God's little showering of gifts everyday to my family and me.

I have to ask why no bananas. You don't have to tell us if it's a private reason. But you love them soo much.
Thankful my checkup went good and shopping wasn't to bad. Just long lines in Walmart. Nothing unusual

@just4him I often put bananas in the refrigerator because of the flies.

The truth is I can't stand those fruit flies they produce. I'm done with those. I think they're countering my weight loss. So, I'm giving them up. I'll get rid of the fruit flies and if it helps my weight loss to not eat them, it's a plus.
I'm sorry the lines were long at Walmart.

Sounds like you are keeping busy for sure. I am glad to hear that you are feeling so much better.
Your banana news brought to mind that old, old song...

That is a great picture for the cover of your book.
I actually put bananas on my grocery list for the middle of the month groceries. We haven't had any for so long. I hear that if eaten while still green they are good for us. But when they begin to ripen and the green is gone they aren't.
