This one is called Boldt Castle in New York.
History of this castle:
George Boldt began constructing this Rhineland-style castle in 1900 as a Valentine's Day surprise for his beloved wife, Louise. Tragically, after her unexpected passing in 1904, he ceased all work on the project and never resumed, leaving behind a stirring symbol of love lost on Heart Island in the Thousand Islands.
For 73 years, the castle remained neglected until the Thousand Islands Bridge Authority assumed control and initiated restoration efforts. Today, visitors can take a ferry to explore its majestic halls, the power station, and the remarkably preserved bowling alley.
Have you seen any castles stateside?

There was a castle being built down around Branson, Missouri, called Ozark Medieval Fortress but construction was paused in 2011 and hasn't been re-started. There is no public access.
Another castle is the Quigley Castle. It's on the way into Arkansas from Missouri. I've passed the entrance to the castle many times but have never driven up to actually take the tour. It was built in the 1940s and the original family still own/run it as a tourist attraction. http://www.quigleyscastle.com/hours_information.htm

Wonderful DE! Never knew about those either.
Too bad they didn't finish that one near Branson.

@RebeccasFarm I guess they were over-ambitious with it. They were talking about it when I was married to my first wife and she wanted to go see it when they got it built.

I think I recall this story. How very sad. It's to hear some place took over the place and didn't let it deteriorate too badly.

I never heard or read about this Castle before.
Perhaps we normally do not "associate" US as much with castles as say Germany, other mainland European nations or even UK.
I hope this place gets more visitors!

The only castle I have ever seen in Bishop's Castle in Colorado. It is not your normal castle but it is cool. Here's a link if you want to check it out. https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g33628-d316320-Reviews-Bishop_Castle-Rye_Colorado.html

! I think CA has some so-called castles, but I don't think they're really "castles". Like Heart Castle in San Simeon . . . it's more like a huge mansion. I also think of Sleeping Beauty's Castle in Disneyland
.
