Bottle flowers

I meant to show you these before; as part of our scenery construction I was making these flower shapes (meant to represent sea anemones, from a distance!)
They are just made from the top part of 2L pop (soda) bottles, cut into petal shapes and then painted with acrylic paint. I got the idea from the décor I had seen at a local venue, where a spiral staircase is decorated all over with these flowers.
Cheap, but effective, I think.
Now though I have quite a lot of the bottle top parts saved up – more than we need – so I feel like I ought to use them to decorate something else!

@Fleura even though you saw the idea somewhere else, you gave it a try and made it your own.

Cool, you are very creative, I remember a friend who have a school project like that. You are all diligent and creative to make it beautiful.

@Fleura Yes, from grade school to high school we have lots of different projects to do. I am so stressed about it because I am not really creative, but I am glad I am over it and long graduated, lol!

Those do look pretty and are a good idea.
Hmm... I wonder if those would make good wind-spinners? You know, heat part of the petal and then give them a twist and wait for them to cool a little bit so part of it sticks out so the wind can catch it. You'd need to put a washer inside the bottle and one on the outside of the cap opening with a stick or some wooden dowel rod to support them... I can see it in my mind but am not sure how to explain what I'm seeing.

Can you drill holes in the lids and put tiny lights through them? They are pretty cool.

Fabulous and unique works of art ! I think they can be used as pendant lamp decorations in your living room.

pretty flowers and cool idea. I might have to tell my great-aunt about this. She likes to make stuff for a church luncheon.

That's a great idea; and they turned out very well. DE's idea about the spinners sounds good too.
