There they are. The old and the new, sharing the back yard for a few days. In the foreground is Bestill (Be Still). It has 123,404 miles. I know that because I had to tell my niece so she could tell the insurance company. Behind it, the dark blue one, is The Ark. Yes, I chose a different name. Two reasons for that. First, my sister-from-another-mother posted something on her Facebook page the day before I bought the car. It talked about how Noah had all the precise measurements for the Ark, but God did not give him a steering wheel or rudder to guide the boat. Wherever the Ark took Noah, he had to rely on God. How appropriate. Secondly, when I got in the car at the dealership and connected my phone, I just pressed the first thing in my music library. That happened to be “The Ark” by Gerry Rafferty. Now, that is NOT a religious song (or I don’t think he intended it to be); however, if you listen to it with a spiritual mindset you can hear a good lesson of faith in it. So The Ark, it is. I took it for a little drive today. WOW. It is so quiet. When I put it in reverse it makes a noise to let me know it’s in reverse. I love how the controls are customizable. I put the “minimal” bars on, so when the cruise control is on, all I see is the speed and the safety function showing all the cars near me. I discovered things I didn’t know about CR-V settings, and I’ve been driving one for six years now! There’s lot to learn still. The BIG learning curve will be for my niece, going from a 2009 RAV4 to a 2020. That is A LOT of technical advancement to learn! Y’all have a great evening! Here’s the Gerry Rafferty song:

I do miss my clutch. Something about driving a stick.

You drive a lot, our car is 2021 and has 6,000 miles on it. I know we drive less in Europe, but we drive a lot less than average. Before this car we had a Dacia Sandero that we called Sandy, this one is a Citröen and we called it Cindy.

It’s a big country here. I think the trip out west last August was over 3,000 miles. And worth it!

@FourWalls I remember how many miles we drove when we rented the car during our trips in your country. We made more in two weeks than two years here in Europe.

Like women, when they get to a certain age, one decent impact and they are a write off

What a cool name and story how you came up with it. My 2013 Chevy Silverado is turning 172,000 miles. but I love my Sophia Rose. This is the first vehicle I've owned that I named a girl.

You say it is quiest. Is it electric? We find them very quiet; almost too quiet in fact. In our village there is so little traffic we mostly walk on the roads and you don't hear electric cars coming up behind you.

It’s a hybrid. It makes a noise (designed to do so) in the car when I put it in reverse to remind me the car is on and it is in reverse.

My 2018 Subaru had 10,296 miles on it. That's why Carvana gave cousin #2 such a large check!!! I hope you have many years of fun and safe driving in your new car.

Congratulations on your new car. Yes, I went from a 2020 to a 2025 and there's a LOT of new technology. I've only driven it 6 times so far so I'm not familiar with it yet and not comfortable enough to touch the dials or adjust anything yet while I'm driving.

I have to admit that I love much of the new stuff. It’s not as bad a learning curve because it’s the same model, and I have been keeping up with new advances.
