Happy Wednesday Everyone! we're having a heat wave
our overnight temperatures went from minus 10 degrees when I got up to a whopping 12 degrees F now. We might even see 20 degrees today (whoop whoop) And I thought yesterday was cold (silly me)
With all the talk about an upcoming major snow storm this weekend I'm trying to figure out what I need from the store and if I need to run any errands before the weekend rolls around.
When they use words like "significant" when referring to accumulations it gives me stress. With the temperatures being so freezing cold I worry about pipes freezing and losing power. I know I'm a worry wart and have no control over any of it and worrying doesn't make it all go away. Whatever happens will happen yet worrying is one thing I dislike about myself and wish I could change. This storm is days away and yet here I am stressing over it today.
And yes, my neighbors car is still in front of my house and surrounded by icy snow that the plow pushed around it since it couldn't totally clear the street. So, with more snow coming it's a given his car will be plowed in probably until the spring thaw. It would certainly be a miracle if he moved it.
Aside from the weather, things are good here, My package finally arrived from Amazon!! yay
I made chili for dinner last night and it hit the spot. Enough for leftovers which always makes me happy. Tonight is pasta night. Somehow Wednesday has become pasta night here and it's a nice middle of the week meal.
Other than that, nothing much is going on. How's your day going?

Awww I'm sure those dogs enjoyed their pats. It was nice that you were able to get out or a short walk.

@Marilynda1225 - All the dogs here around are so gentle and friendly. They never bark.

Got ya beat with -4°C/25°F
Still cold, though.
If you're afraid your pipes might freeze, keep a trickle of water running in the vulnerable tap(s). If this freeze keeps up, I may have to start doing it, too. Can't help ya with keeping the electricity on, though.

You win with the temps!!
Good advice about the trickle of water running. Hope you survive this freeze as well with no problems.

I don't blame you for stressing. I hear those weather reports. I tend to be the same way durring hurricane season. You always that you're not prepared enough. You can't predict what'll happen. It's normal to feel as you do.

I've been through some really bad blizzards as well as hurricanes in my life so I guess maybe it's a little bit of PTSD.

Today and tomorrow we're supposed to see 46F by the afternoon but we're down below freezing both nights and then down to single digits or below for the weekend. We have a forecast of heavy snow Friday, Saturday and into Sunday. Not looking forward to that!
I'm trying to talk Pretty into going shopping today or tomorrow before the snow hits but we're both tired and sluggish. (I had trouble with my BP while we were in Springfield yesterday {It went really low for me and Pretty said I wasn't making a lot of sense when I was talking to her on our way home but I was driving okay.} but it came back up to normal after I slept when we got home.) Shopping may have to wait until tomorrow or until after we warm back up next week.
I'm glad things are going okay for you there and hope the snow isn't as bad as they're predicting for either of us.

I really hope you are able to get to the store before the weekend. I've seen that some stores are already running out of things and it reminds me of the Covid panic. Hopefully neither of us gets hit really bad with this impending storm.

Oh well
We didn't get up until 3.30pm.
That is all I can say.
I think most people in your area would be worrying about frozen pipes and power outages just now. Not a worry wart at all

I'm also afraid of the temps being so cold moreso than the actual snow totals.

I hope he moves it. I would hate to see a plow hit it because they couldn't see it.

We're walking to the shop soon before it gets too hot. Other than that we'll just try to stay cool.

It's a sad day for me; but I'm hanging in there. I am following that big storm that is supposed to hit this weekend. Stay safe and warm.

Sending you some hugs Linda
I hope they're wrong about the storm as it looks like it's going to cause a whole lot of trouble.
