Long But Good Day

Here is the weather report going forward for tonight into tomorrow and Saturday.
The extreme cold warning poses significant risks to health, with wind chills as low as -40°F potentially causing frostbite on exposed skin in under 10 minutes. Slippery road conditions from light snow and gusty winds increase accident risks for drivers. Vulnerable groups include children, elderly, pets, and outdoor workers.
Snow starts in half an hour before it gets extremely cold. Then from midnight tonight until 6 AM tomorrow morning we can expect wind chills as low as -40 F. From Friday afternoon until Saturday noon, the expected wind chills will be -35 F.
Now you know what our weather will be over the weekend. That's the bad news. I'm not leaving the apartment. I'll also be dressed in layers as this apartment gets cold due to it's location adjacent to the underground parking garage. Though I don't expect many residents to leave tomorrow. Everyone I talked to is hunkering down.
As for today, itself. It's been good. I know I wasn't here again today, and I won't apologize for it. You know I'm an author and I've been working almost non-stop on In the Hands of Mighty Men. I'm thankful for the work I did today. There was a lot of rewriting to be done, and tomorrow I will be almost rewriting an entire chapter. I hope not. At least the framework is there for me to rework it. AI has been a huge help with the restructuring of these last chapters.
I took a brain break this afternoon for a game of Canasta upstairs. It's what I needed to get the manuscript working as well as it is right now. We played two games. Each team won a game, so that was very good.
I just finished work for today on the manuscript and will begin again tomorrow. I don't know how much time I will be here before I finish In the Hands of Mighty Men. You will know when you see more of me.
My back and shoulders are telling me I've been on the computer long enough for today. I will get the notifications caught up, that's a promise.
I know there is extreme weather affecting 35 states. If you are being impacted, I hope you take all necessary precautions to stay safe.
That's my day. How was your day today? Let me know in the comments below. Thanks for reading. The image belongs to me - the potential book cover for In the Hands of Mighty Men.

That storm is gong to affect many of us and we're not getting it until overnight Sat into Sunday/Monday. Projected accumulations is 14-18 inches so far and I'm hoping we get snow rather than freezing rain/sleet. I have a
Walmart delivery coming this afternoon so we'll be set for days. I have plenty of things to keep me busy and just hoping we don't lose power at any point.
Sounds like you're making great progress with your Mighty Men book. Love the cover!!
Stay warm, stay safe and hope it doesn't get too bad there.

I've been making food just in case the power goes out and charging up the power banks and rechargeable flashlights. My phone is almost fully charged and my tablet is charging. I can't think of anything else to do to be as ready as we can get for the nasty weather.
I hope you stay safe and warm.

The storm will hit either tonight or tomorrow. What has been really bad is the cold. It will stay cold for the next week as well. Sounds like you're doing well with your writing. I love the cover of the book. Stay safe and warm.

I jumped straight.to the end because of the photo.
That would make a great cover for the book.
When will the book be published?
