I'll be home alone for a fortnight

I’ve been away for three nights spending time with friends and generally relaxing. We came home yesterday and today Vince flies out to Thailand for a fortnight.
He is meeting some photography friends there and they are visiting a northern hill tribe where they have permission to take photos as the villagers go about their daily tasks. Hopefully, I’ll be able to share some of Vince’s photos with you.
He has had to pack very lightly as one of the interior flights restricts him to 7 kg of luggage. He will need to leave some of his luggage in an airport locker at that point. Most of his luggage consists of camera gear and his laptop. As it’s only for a fortnight, he won’t really need a lot of clothes.
The photo was taken in Thailand in the late 1990s when we visited there with a group of schoolboys. We installed a water supply for a hill tribe in another area and Vince participated in a slingshot competition with the locals.

Being alone for two weeks sounds kind of lonely when you’re used to having your husband nearby. Obviously, you’re a grown woman with her own sensibilities, but I hope you won’t get too lonely. It’s funny, but my mom did much better without my dad than my dad without my mom. When he’d preach a revival four hours away, if my mom couldn’t go with him, he’d drive the four hours home each night because he was so used to sleeping by her side. Don’t get me wrong, my mom missed him, but my dad was just sad without her. I bet Vince is going to really miss having you nearby.
But the photos! I cannot wait for you to share his photos. This one is already cool. And the stories he will have will be so incredible. Thank you for offering to share with us.

Two weeks isn't that long. And you'll keep yourself busy. Can't wait to see Vince's photos and do really hope you could share it with us here.

It's so cool that you guys get to travel, and it's nice that you can travel separately with friends. Some people are very glued together. I don't mind going places alone or with friends, but my husband doesn't seem to want to go with anyone but me.

@AliCanary Vince will stay with other people but he doesn't like 'roughing' it so sometimes gets a bit particular about where he stays. I have to admit, he always makes good choices.

@JudyEv It's good to have a travelling companion for safety's sake, but my problem with travelling with my husband is that he doesn't like to stay at people's houses and prefers a hotel, instead. If I want to get a GOOD visit, I need to go by myself or with another friend or relative.

Thanks but no, I'm never lonely on my own. I have good friends just up the road if I need some company.

I'm surprised you haven't seen him before as I've put up quite a few photos of the two of us in particular. Thanks for the kind words.

staying along at home is very lonely unless you have all the electronic gazettes to keep you busy

I am very content on my own. I have plenty to do. I want to reorganise some cupboards for starters.
