As I have discussed on here I was in an accident on September 30. I had just paid my insurance bill a few days before. I was terrified this coming bill (I pay every 6 months) was going to be a whopper since I was found at fault. I don't really agree with that, but such is life. Anyway, I just got it..not due until late March, but not bad at all. They probably don't know about my defensive driving class either, unless they checked with the DMV. I might be able to save more on this bill with that. It is supposed to save 5 percent. So glad I switched insurance companies. The last one had gotten very greedy.

Glad you had better news than feared. Did you get hurt in the accident?

I wasn't hurt, I don't think it went up at all honestly.

Usually a chargeable accident or a hefty speeding ticket causes big problemswith your rates so I am happy.

@snowy22315 - It's the same here, you lose your insurance discount if you cause even one small accident.

My insurance actually went down from the 2020 Jeep to the 2025 Hyundai Palisade

That's interesting. Mine only went down when I switched providers.

It seems every time something changes the insurance goes up for homes and vehicles. I am glad it was not as bad as you thought.

Yeah, I am thrilled actually. Even with the accident it is still more than a 100 dollars less than my previous company.

Most insurance companies allow for one accident claim before raising rates. However, that is not written in stone, so beware of future increases perhaps when it's time to renew again.
