How long does it take for you to feel normal?

I got two hours of sleep last night, and, as you can imagine, nothing feels good this morning. It’s hard to catch me in a bad mood, but I might have been on my way except I had something small for breakfast, I took my medicine, and I got a big glass of ice water. I have started to feel like a normal person (with a heating pad glued to her back). It takes about two hours for food, medicine, and everything else to kick in before I feel ready to go somewhere or do something. I talked about getting the notice the night before that my dad was inviting me to go to Tulsa to see my sister’s family (yesterday). He used to invite me the morning he would leave, right before he’d step out the door. He couldn’t understand why I couldn’t be ready when it literally just takes me 20 minutes to get dressed, and all that. Luckily, he understands now, I need notice. How long does it take you, not to get dressed, but to be completely ready to face the day, from the moment you wake up?

I like to take a bit of time, generally I would say an hour to get up, washed, dressed and then enjoy a coffee without having to gulp it down and rush out.

This is more typical of me. Being really honest, I want my morning to be leisurely before I go anywhere.

The alarm goes off at 5:30am and I'm out the door by 6:30 after showering, dressing, getting my stuff together, etc. I don't feel "normal" though until like another hour or so later. It is funny bc when we have a 90 minute delay my 1st period students always say "you're in a good mood today!". I'm like "no I'm just finally awake".

5 minutes is enough for me of course if it's in the morning after breakfast.

I kind of mean from the moment you wake up to the moment you’re ready to get to your day.

From 40 minutes to one hour. I like to take my time to enjoy my first coffee with toasted bread and jam. After breakfast I take a shower and finally I get dressed and I am ready for the day.

@AmbiePam - I can do faster if needed, but I like to take my time.

If I need/want a shower, about 40 minutes. If I just need to get dressed, maybe 10 minutes from the time I wake up I can be walking out the door...

It takes about an hour for my medication to kick in, and that’s a major part of me feeling normal.

@AmbiePam Meds for me take 15 minutes to kick in and by the time they do, I've already left the house.

Going to work, about an hour. Church is less, as I do not have to pack a lunch. Usually I am planning some other activity, and if so I add about 20 minutes to each planned addition. So, church, then shopping may take longer than church then home to be ready.

Unless, I am required I usually don't do much other than online until about lunch time.

It doesn't take me very long but it would take longer if I were expected to go out.
