A meal to dream about

Beesting

MyLotter Jimlos Tatooth (@Ineeddentures) wrote about his wife, Yvonne, talking in her sleep. It reminded me of a time when Vince talked in his sleep. He was bursar at a school and one lunchtime the domestic science teacher presented him with a delicious roast dinner, complete with roast vegetables and gravy. Luckily, when he came home, he told me all about it. I won’t use her real name but, in the middle of the night, he sat up in bed and said ‘ooh eeh, Janice Keally, ooh eeh’. He repeated this several times before going back to sleep. He might have been in real trouble if he hadn’t mentioned it to me. The photo shows a beesting. That would be enough for me to go ‘ooh eeh’ too!

I am sure that poor Vince would have been in real trouble.

He would have indeed. I would never have believed that a roast dinner could cause such a reaction in the middle of the night! lol

@JudyEv It was an extremely weird reaction. I wonder what they added to that roast dinner.

I'm glad Vince told you about her giving him a nice meal, too. My first wife said I talked in my sleep all the time but it was usually nonsense. Pretty says once in a while, when I'm really tired, I sing in my sleep...

Vince sometimes says odd things but I can't always make out what he says. When we were house-sitting or touring, he would often half wake and ask where we were.

@JudyEv My first wife once told me I'd sat up in bed, looked at her and asked her if she knew cows had purple heads. She said she told me to close my stupid eyes and lay down because I was still asleep.

In the photo? It's called a beesting here. Pastry base then sponge cake, custard, cream, more cake and almonds on top. Very yummy.

That's a funny story and that beesting looks soooo good. My son talked in his sleep from when he was young, He gave us many laughs and now my daughter in law says he still talks in his sleep, One night he had a whole conversation about a plumbing job he was doing

@JudyEv I wish I could join you in a beestring. My mouth is watering just looking at the picture. I'm sure my son is working out his work problems while he's sleeping.

I might get to the shops tomorrow and I just have to buy myself a beesting. Your son might wake up with a problem sorted sometimes after talking about it through the night.

Thankfully he had mentioned the meal beforehand. That's almonds on the top. I guess they're just roasted and perhaps covered with some sort of glaze.

I might have found it hard to believe his story if he'd tried to tell me later - if he was still alive!
