Happy Thursday Everyone! it's a sunny morning here today and we just might get temperatures up around the freezing mark. A tiny bit of that icy snowy stuff melted a bit on my deck yesterday. It's been a solid sheet of icy stuff and the screen door out onto my deck has been frozen shut. Hopefully today a little more will melt and I'll be able to open the door.
My older daughter was out early running errands and she stopped by to pick up something I needed to be mailed. We had a nice cup of coffee together and then she was on her way., Boy am glad I didn't have to go out. Kids come in handy
I'm on track for my 2026 goal for reading. I finally finished my January choice and it was probably better than I thought it was due to the fact that I was distracted and had to put it down many times. Now that I finished that book which was #1 my next choice is the newest James Patterson (Return of the Spider). It's number 34 in his Alex Cross series and I've read all the books in this series.
I got a new journal for 2026 so I've made a list in the back to record all the books I read this year. I did that last year and it worked out well. Sometimes I forgot what books I've read so now I look back if I need to.
I love journaling. Sometimes I just jot down random thoughts, small goals I set for myself and my daily account of calories, etc. I also have a bunch of inspirational & funny stickers which I use and it brings out the kid in me.
Haven't decided on dinner yet. Guess I'll be rummaging in the freezer to see if there's something easy to just defrost, heat and eat.
My day is off to a good start and hope yours is too...

I had to get up to use the restroom and am catching up on myLot this morning.
I decided I've been good lately so am eating a Butterfinger.
I usually have some kind of candy bar in my bedroom closet but might save it for a month or two before deciding to eat it. This one just hit the spot. YUM!
We just bought a deepfreeze (a couple of months ago) and I forget I've got bags of frozen snacky type foods in it. I just look in the little freezer in the fridge.
Pretty bought a beef roast and asked me to chop up some onions for the crockpot and stick them in the fridge. (She bought red onions for that. We already had shallots and Maya sweet onions on a table in the kitchen.) I have a sweet onion already diced in the fridge. *shrug*
I have no clue what we'll have for lunch or supper tonight.

Butterfinger!! my favorite candy bar of all time.
Yum your roast sounds scrumptious. I never took out anything to defrost for dinner so I guess we'll be doing a frozen pizza. Oh well, that's life

My favorite candy is probably a Tootsie Roll but I wanted a different taste this time.
I'm not hungry now but cut a wedge of Colby Jack and ate that. It was delicious, as always.
You can always come visit and have roast with us.

@Laurakemunto I'm not complaining about that. It's nice being able to do that a few days a week.

I regretted the fact that I stopped recording my days in a diary. It's really enjoyable/informative to go back and read about the important times in my life.

I only started doing this a few years ago. My daughter gave me a beautiful journal as a gift and now every Christmas she gives me a new one. It is nice to go back and read what was going on even if my entrees seemed dull and boring

@Marilynda1225 I kept a diary/journal during some of my teen years and into my dating years with my husband. It's always interesting to go back and read about what we did. I wished I would have continued it.

It does sound like a good day for you, and coffee time with your daughter is always good. We had a bit more snow this morning. But warmer days are on the way here. Not sure yet on what to have for dinner, but it's only 1 PM so I have time to decide and/or think up something!

My day started off good and then got sidetracked by a phone call from a friend. We wound up having a marathon call which sucked up all of my morning. So, the things I had planned to do will now be tomorrows "to do' stuff. I haven't decided on dinner either and it's already too late to defrost something so looks like a frozen pizza night,
Hope your day is/went well. Lucky you getting warmer days, I'm jealous

We are to have a few warmer days but it will not last. We never stay in spring temperatures this early.

I've been writing down the book titles & authors in my journal, too, but just on the day I finish one, not in a separate list. I'll have to get a new journal soon, too.

I'm glad you got a little bit of time with your daughter, that's a blessing! =) I use a journal to talk to the Lord sometimes since I love to write as well.

Thanks for letting me know it’s Thursday. It feels like a Sunday to me.
Yes, kids come in handy. Our neighbors contacted me a couple of days ago to let me know our garage door was opened. Called younger son, and he closed it for us. Unfortunately, he was the one who forgot to close it after checking our house the day before. Kids!
I should create a list of books that I’ve read. Never thought of it. Good idea!

I don't do a lot of reading or goals but it sounds like you
are on a good roll for yourself,
I'm just
getting up for the 2nd time cause I get up early &
after 3-4 hrs. I take a few hours nap & up for
the rest of the day. Being it's just 12 degrees outside
there's not a whole lot to do.
