What a little makeup can do…….

My daughter-in-law rarely wears makeup. But when she does, she looks so much better. The photo was taken when she actually ran the runway at the last National Democratic Convention (sorry to mention politics here). Her role was to line up the speakers, tell them when to go to the stage, and arrange helpers to get them off stage. She had a wonderful time and experience. Needless to say, she met so many political bigwigs and actors and actresses and had her photo taken with them. The most exciting was when Hilary Clinton said, “Hello Sara. It’s so good to see you again!”). Years ago my DIL was a White House intern during the Clinton administration with the intern Monica Lewinsky. . She tutored Chelsea Clinton in math. I won’t leave the house without makeup. What about you?

Too much makeup bothers me. But a little bit is fine.

I may wear a little bit more than you like. When I went shopping the other dat, the male cashier told me I looked so pretty and last week, a woman who waited on us when we bought a new area rug told me twice how beautiful I was in front of my husband. He smiled and I felt great. On the other side, my younger son told be that I was ugly without makeup

I've never worn makeup but doubt it would help my appearance. Pretty rarely wears makeup even though I know she has some. She normally just puts on sunblock and that's it. She always looks good. *shrug*

@DianneN She rarely wore makeup when she went on dates. *shrug* She said they asked her out so already knew how she looked without any on.

I'm glad it was the Democratic one. Hehe. And Hilary remembered her. How nice. When I was younger I wore make-up but now I rarely put it on. I like the fresh and clean look now.

Thank you and of course it was the Democratic one. Gotta love you even more for that! I only wear the fresh clean look when I dive into bed for the night except for the eye cream and face cream and of course the eye and face serums

That's so interesting about your daugter in law. I use to never leave the house without makeup until the past year or two. I don't wear it anymore to the grocery store. I also have not worn it in front of my new daughter in law and I can tell she notices when I wear it and when I don't but she is so sweet she never says a word. She is precious.

@DianneN Thank you, that is sweet to hear...though I know I need a lot of work. I am too overweight and need my teeth fixed, etc...eventually will change those. I'd be working on the first but trying to be on a journey where weight loss is not the intention lol

You must have really sensitive skin like my younger son’s fiancée. She loved her job and took it a step further by opening a consulting office in Washington DC. Thank you!

When I went to Latvia, I still wore some makeup but as life got laidback and I had my love and things were easy, I stopped using makeup, and now that decision saves me a lot of money. Besides, I could scare the very rare person who might come to knock on my door to see the old bat in the attic with makeup

Your daughter-in-law can give a run for your money - just kidding! She has done a lot to reminisce as she is an achiever and had met VIPs at a young age. I make sure I am presentable when I go out

She does give me a run for my money in so many ways, which I think is absolutely amazing. She’s also been a very high achiever and cares most for the people who suffered the most. When she practiced law in New York City, she passed up the big bucks of corporate law to work in something like labor law for human rights. I am positive that you always look presentable when you go out!

I haven't worn makeup in years. When I was younger and worked downtown, I would get dolled up every day. Your DIL has had quite an amazing life.

I understand why you had to get all dolled up back in the day. I usually get all dolled up when we go out, but can’t stand removing the makeup before bed. I’m in the bathroom way too long. She has her thumb in everything. Now she opened a consulting office with a friend in Washington DC.

Nowadays an eyebrow pencil is practically a necessity, and a bit of lipstick. Otherwise I just look so pale I'm barely visible!
