There is Just Something So Wholesome About Down Home Cooking

Tonight, my daughter is cooking Goulash. It is such a good meal and so easy to prepare. I love good and basic home cooking. Sure I go in for the fancier fare too but the basics are where it's at. Like beans and corned bread, chili, corned beef and cabbage, meat and potatoes. Probably many in here had their own tried and true recipes. They have foods from their country of origin. I love good Mexican, Italian and Chinese dishes as well as just American dishes.
What is a favorite down home recipe you like to fix?

That is the best way to go on spaghetti and meatballs. My daughter and grandson recently made some that wasn't too bad.

We used to have roast quite often. My grandmother made it so tender and flavorful.

We cook every day here unless we need to eat leftovers. My son loves goulash. Well, basically he loves pasta in any form. He really likes lasagna and spaghetti, too.

I love home cooked meals but unfortunately I don't cook. I always depend on our house help for our meals.

@celticeagle Not really. But sometimes I do but that's very rare. I''m too busy to cook.

Haven't made anything in a very long time. Homemade, I agree, are the best.
