What's a Person to Do?

We have this really nice neighbor. I wrote about her in another post today. She quite often (about once a month or so) will bring us over food. She brought us some tortilla soup once a couple of months ago. It was so good. This time it is this delicious homemade chili. Always delicious. I would love to do something nice for her, but I can't think of anything. This time she has asked us to feed her one cat. She doesn't go inside and so someone needs to set some food out for her. But surely there is something else we could do too. I don't know if she likes chocolate, maybe flowers, or a good dish we cook. But they are ones she cooks too. Oh, woe is me.
Any ideas?

I'd be her friend just like you're doing now. I'm sure if you get to know her a little more, you'll figure out something she'll like.

@celticeagle It would do both of you a lot of good if you would allow the lady into your circle for a visit.

I think feeding the cat is a good start. She trusts you to do that.

Feeding her cat is already a way of giving back her kindness. Chatting with her and just being a friend is already enough I think.

I had thought of that but what if she doesn't eat such things?

@celticeagle Maybe ask her over for a coffee one day and try to get to know her a bit better.

Be her friend. You are taking care of her cat. That's a way of giving back. Maybe by talking to her you can get a fix on what she likes. Flowers are always good....or a nice plant that she can keep.

I agree. I just feel so foolish sometimes in the social setting. A plant? That's an idea.

@celticeagle I like to give plants better than flowers. They last much longer.

Maybe just visit her. She could be lonely

She has kids and I have social anxiety so visiting wouldn't happen.

Mostly just be her friend and show her you care and are there for her,

It sounds like she is a nice lady. Maybe she would like having a friend. Either way, very sweet of her to share.

And I think taking care of her kitty is one good way to show we appreciate her.
