Candles have been around for 5,000 years. Popcorn was eaten 6,000 years ago. Honey is good forever. It was found in the tombs in Egypt. Stop signs used to be yellow not red. Dragonsflies have been around since the dinosaurs.

Hard to fathom candy and popcorn being around for thousands of years. Guess sweets go back a long way

I sure didn't know that about stop signs maybe they changed colors so as to not interfere with caution lights.

That could be the reason. Red means stop.

So true, indigenous people in the Americas ate popcorn. Stop signs were also yellow here, they are now red to be more visible.

That is why they changed to red here. So you will notice them.

@jstory07 - Same reason here in Europe, now they are all red and still people ignore them.

A collection of interesting facts! If candy has been around for 5,000 years, there must have been quite a number of people in need of dental care!
