More snow on top of more snow...

This winter really is kicking my butt, between all the snow I had to shovel last weekend and the next storm of 14-18 inches coming next week. Then this morning on the way into work we got slammed with another 3 inches of snow on the ride in which made it dangerous. Then last but not least the cost to heat my home this month has surpassed 400 dollars, I out 100 gallons into my furnace three weeks ago and this morning I ran out of heating fuel. I'm over this winter already, ready for spring.

You certainly have gotten hit hard by old man winter. I'm sure many of us are waving the white flag of surrender. We didn't get hit as hard as you with the last storm and only got about an inch this morning. Looks like we might see more tomorrow but next weeks is not even something I want to think about. Certainly hope they're wrong.
That heating bill has to hurt

Wow! We have a smaller house and use natural gas to heat it but our bill was a little over $100 last month. We did just get insulation blown into the walls and the ceiling as well as new doors, new storm windows and some other things but our gas bill used to just be $150 during the worst months before.
I'm hoping the same upgrades will help with our air conditioning this next summer, too.
Edit to add: I'm glad I don't have to shovel snow anymore, much as it irritates my daughter when I don't.
I just wait and let Mother Nature clean the car off and clear the driveway before I bother going outside.

@BACONSTRIPSXXX Ouch! But it's still cheaper to heat with gas than it is with electric!

Wow
400 dollars
Do you have a big home?
And then do you have electricity bill on top of that?
Sorry it's been such a bad winter for you?
Hope it warms up soon, after the next storm anyway.

@Ineeddentures They would have to insulate half the house, before I bought my house they did an add on to extend the kitchen and bathroom but never insulated the walls so the back end of my house is always colder

Yea it was $362 for 100 gallons of heating oil and it didn't even last 3 weeks, my light bill was around 280 and my house is just about 1400 square feet but is very drafty

Drafty doesn't sound good.
Would it be cost effective to stop the drafts?

Oh gosh, I'm sorry it's giving you such a hard time. I'm far south enough that we missed this past weekend's blast. Our utility bills have gone way up, too. If I were working, I would definitely be looking into getting solar panels on the roof!. Hang in there!

@BACONSTRIPSXXX It's so hard to keep up with everything. At least we can make a few dollars from MyLot to sprinkle on top!

Winters where I am get stupid brutal too, so I can totally empathize. Started referring to snow as sky snot for a reason, and a $400+ heating bill is mind blowing.
