Did you see any of the "State of the Union" speech last night?

I understand it was one of the longest in history, and a "field day" for fact-checkers, but I was at work and unable to watch. I don't have to work today until the early afternoon, so I suppose I'll do a bit of "research" later this morning. Did Trump say anything new or interesting? I have started a new pair of coasters. I may do some work on them after I post this. Wheee! How is your Wednesday shaping up?

No, I didn't. I don't like listening to him lying all the time.

@jaylar True... I do usually check Snopes to see what they say about his lies but that's as far as I go anymore.

@DaddyEvil I listen to the BBC for world news... and often will make a check online. We aren't much into world news... our local news is local.

Omg Trump really is entertaining I absolutely loved it I don't know what he said that was right or wrong, it's the way he says it And he really does stir up American Nationalism Very well The introduction to the audience of the American Mens Ice Hockey Gold Medal Winners Team was a stroke of genius I can see why people have become his supporters,

I saw some of it because my husband wanted to see it. I was not listening much. I was looking at my phone a lot. I did notice something at the beginning. Trump's hair was windblown and I kid you not, his hair had a pinkish tinge to it the whole time. He looked weird.

@TheHorse That is what I have been wondering. It looks like Vance will be the Republican Nominee in the next election. With that looking probable, who do you think Vance would get as his running mate? You tell me who you think first. Then I will tell you who I predict.

Pink is new. Orange is normal. Is J.D. Vance really ready to be President?

I did not watch it because I knew he was going to blather and praise himself, and lie about everything. I did a scan this morning and saw how many lies he said, how dishonest he was, which confirmed my belief.

@jaylar I think he understands, at some level, that he is a goat, and on the fast track to Hell.

I don’t know how people watched it. Then again, I never watch it. I have watched rebuttals, but those were weak moments.

Sometimes I feel like we are living in a bad reality show. This is all so silly.

I saw some of it, but could stomach it for a half an hour or so. I did watch the Dem. Rebuttal though, because our newly elected Governor gave it.

I did, actually. I didn't plan on it, but I ended up watching a live stream of it along with commentary by Tim Miller of the Bulwark, one of my favorite podcasters. It was basically full of the BS you'd expect, claiming that the economy was roaring right along, that prices were falling, unemployment was down, etc - all untrue. Since he didn't have any real achievements to brag about, he spent a HUGE amount of time soaking up applause for other people who were there, like several members of the men's Olympic hockey team, veterans, and others. He talked about people who were victims of crimes committed by immigrants, but of course never mentioned the murders of people by ICE and Border Patrol agents. Spare yourself the bloviation - there was nothing groundbreaking.

I watched part of it. It's all I could stand. Trump said we are the most respected nation in the world. That is such a lie. We are the laughingstock of other countries.
